Since no one said anything about my miraculous jaydick au Y'ALL ARE GONNA HEAR ABOUT IT
SO Jason is Ladybug, and Dick is Chat Noir.
Jason gets taken in by Pamela Isley & Harleen Quinzel as a street rat, and the pair totally adopt him, even after he tries to steal their tires. Jason grows up well loved and cared for, and he may still have some anger issues (I mean.... Look at his moms), but he really just wants to help people. He finds earrings in his backpack, and Tikki comes out to tell him what's happening. At first, Jason was like "WHAT THE FUCK. WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FUCK." Luckily, the earrings are stick ons, and he doesn't need to have his ears pierced. And hello, magic? They stay on no matter the battle. At first he his horrified by the costume, but it works, and he rolls with it reluctantly.
Meanwhile, Dick's origin is very similar to canon. However, it takes a while for Bruce to be able to adopt Dick, who grows up in the foster system for a few years. It's especially difficult due to his Roma heritage, and people are cruel, but Dick is always kind, and eventually the adoption goes through and Bruce adopts Dick. He already has his son, Damian, who is absolutely horrible, but reluctantly warms up to Dick's charm and easy smile. He finds the ring in his backpack on the first day of school (Bruce actually lets him go bc Dick is far too social to keep couped up).
Everyone is suspicious of Dick- they've heard abt the Romani circus kid Bruce Wayne took in, and people don't trust him at first. Jason doesn't trust him per se (he doesn't really trust anyone), but he doesn't believe in judging based on someone's background.
Obviously, Dick and he become sort of friends, along with Wally West and Roy Harper.
Anyway, when Dick finds the ring and meets Plagg, it doesn't hesitate to become a superhero. He is READY. He kept up with acrobatics of course, so that combined with Plagg makes him quite formidable.
Also, Jason probably had the Ladybug costume modified to be looser and black with red spots...
