But after he had discovered, he could do the sonic waves, it had seemed like the most logical one. He had always kind of wanted to be a superhero, and once upon a time, he had thought working for Harrison Wells on the Particle Accelerator would be his superhero thing. That it would be the biggest, save-the-world thing would do in his life. But then he had gotten his powers. Cisco had been going out like this for a couple of nights now, and he hadn´t told anyone. Everyone was busy with Zoom, Wally, Ronnie coming back and Harry betraying them, it wasn´t like they had time for him. Cisco wasn´t number 1 priority. So he just hadn´t told anyone. He had been doing this for a couple of nights now, and it was going fine. Of course, it stopped going fine about 2 minutes ago, when he got cornered by 4 large armed men.
His brain was working at top speed, trying to figure something out, any sort of way to escape, when the first guy was knocked into the ground. Cisco stared stunned, as the second one got a punch to the face, and whoever was helping him out grabbing the guy´s gun. It was a woman, but Cisco couldn´t exactly tell whom. When the third one was hit by a ray of gold, that wasn´t really something he had to think about anymore. Cisco rolled his eyes, and gave the last one a sonic wave to knock him towards the wall. “Nice,” Lisa grinned. “Now get up.”
“I don´t like motorbikes,” Cisco argued, as it dawned on him what she meant. He really didn´t, the one time he had rid one, he had collided face first with a wall and broken his wrist. Lisa sighed, clearly annoyed with him. Cisco expected nothing less form her.
“Would you rather get shot in the head?” she bit back.
“Alright, fair point,” he quickly jumped and jumped onto the back of the bike.
“Hold onto me tight,” Lisa said, and he could practically hear the smirk in her voice. Great. He was pretty sure, he should hate himself a little when he did actually listen to her, wrapping his arms around her. But irrational fear of motorbikes or not, it was still very real, and it was definitely also the only reason he was clinging onto her, as she speeded down the street. Definitely the only reason.
They had probably driven about 7 blocks down the main street, before Lisa took a sharp turn and stopped the bike in another smaller alley. Cisco stumbled a little bit, when he got off the bike. Lisa pulled off her helmet, hair done up for once, which he was not at all noticing, and grinned at him. Her hair looked nice in a ponytail though. Cisco did his best to give her a mildly annoyed look. “Thanks for helping me out,” he said begrudgingly, because even though she had left him at Star Labs, without as much as a word since, he probably still owed her that much.
“Well,” Lisa said with another, slightly warmer smile, shoving her hands into her jeans pockets. She looked up at him, and he didn´t miss what looked like genuine warmth and niceness in her eyes. But of course that didn´t mean it actually was. He really hoped it was though, because those blue eyes were really really nice, especially right now. “I don´t mind saving a damsel in distress every now and again.”
“Oh,” Cisco retorted, and crossed his arms. He tried very hard not to be grinning a little bit. He would much rather just thank her for saving his life, and then let her get on her way. It was much better than her sticking around for a couple of days, him remembering the nice things about her, and then her driving off on her motorbike into the sunset like last time. It was better not to play along too much with her. And it had been several months, since the last time, he had seen her. “So, I´m a damsel now?”
“Yes,” she said and took a couple of steps towards him. Not that they had been standing that far away from each other in the first place, but they hadn´t been standing that close either, but this was clearly different. She tilted her head slightly, and smiled at him. It was actually adorable, which wasn´t really a thing he associated with Lisa usually, but it applied. “You really sort of are. A cute damsel though.”
“Guess that counts for something,” Cisco said, moving a step to the side, without really knowing why he was. Lisa´s lips curved into a smirk, as if she knew something he didn´t. She probably did, it wouldn´t exactly surprise him.
“You can stop staring at my lips by the way,” Lisa said quietly, and okay yes, he had been doing exactly that.
“I wasn´t,” Cisco argued, already perfectly aware that he was lying through his teeth.
“Was to,” she retorted, her voice softer. But it wasn´t sugar coated the same way, it had been when she had picked him up at the bar. It was more earnest, more real, which honestly threw Cisco a little off, the same way her confessing what her dad had done to her had.
“Was not,” he bit back, determined to get whatever victory he could. Lisa stopped in front of him, and he was suddenly acutely aware of the fact that they were standing relatively close. But it didn´t feel like he had been backed into a corner or anything, because he was pretty sure, he had closed at least half of the distance between them himself. He took a deep breath, but Lisa didn´t say anything. Maybe she had decided to let him win. He barely managed to finish that thought, before Lisa pressed a chaste kiss against his cheek. Cisco gave her a stunned look, as she pulled away.
“Was to,” Lisa whispered smugly. His stomach did a swoosh motion, and Cisco reached out and cupped her cheek. Then he turned his head slightly, and kissed her. Lisa did actually appear a little surprised by that, but quickly responded and cupped the back of his skull pulling him closer. He wrapped his other arm around her shoulders, Lisa sucked down hard on his bottom lip, and the kiss quickly deepened, moving more frantically. Cisco wasn´t even aware, he was moving backwards until his back collided with the brick wall, Lisa practically crushed against him. Lisa slowly pulled away from him then, although she didn´t move. She gave him a warm smile.
“Holy- fuck, I´ve missed you,” Cisco breathed quietly, and Lisa laughed a little. Lisa had a nice laugh, when she wasn´t faking it. She brushed his hair away from his eyes, and there was something oddly tentative about that, which was in stark contrast to what they had just been doing.
“I missed you too,” Lisa said, her other hand having grabbed his shirt. She gave him another kiss, and Cisco felt like his insides were melting. Between Kendra, powers, Zoom breaking Barry´s back, Ronnie, Wally and everything that had happened since Lisa drove off last time, he really hadn´t realized how much he had missed Lisa. Maybe he liked her a little more than he wanted to. She pulled away from him again, and there was something almost shy in her eyes. “Why do you think I came back to Central City?”
“Well usually, I´d assume crime,” Cisco retorted teasingly, and Lisa bit her lip like she was trying to keep in a laugh.
“That too,” she admitted in the same teasing tone, and he found himself brushing a hand along her cheekbone. He put the hand down and on her shoulder instead. Her voice was softer, when she spoke again. “But I did miss you, a lot actually.”
“I believe you,” he said quietly, and Lisa raised an eyebrow. It was the first thought in his head, not this is too good to be true, or you´re just playing me, no he genuinely completely believed her.
“Why?” she asked and gave him a searching look. Clearly she hadn´t actually expected him to just believe her like that either.
“I don´t know,” he said below his breath. Lisa looked like she resisted rolling her eyes at him. “Guess there is a first time for everything.”
