jongseong casts another glance towards his phone, shoving it back into his bag with a sigh. it’s 4:03, he’s officially been stood up. his lips curl into a small frown as he glances around the arcade again, pouting as he once again is unable to spot jake.
he slumps sadly into the chair of a mario kart game, fingers mindlessly picking at the strings of his ripped jeans. at first, jongseong was worried for jake, the only time the younger has been late to a hangout was in fourth grade when the two were fighting, but he still showed up.
he’s so focused on the hurt building in his chest, that he almost misses the call of his name. relief quickly washes over him, even though he’s upset jake’s so late, he can’t stand being mad at him.
jongseong’s face splits into a smile as he turns around in his seat, “fucking finally, dude, i was wondering if you’ve- huh?”
SUMMARY: jake thought playing matchmaker for his best friend would be fun, well, fun until he realized he was deeply and utterly in love with him.
