Serious/anxious brain looks down upon your innocent sleeping form.
Brain: JayTim Week is coming.
You lying in bed, innocent and unconcerned, determined to be unbothered by your brain's anxious mutterings.
You: It's not until June, I have plenty of time.
Brain now stares straight ahead, the shadows under its eyes apparent.
Brain: It is already May.
You lie awake in the dark, your eyes bright pinpoints of panic in the dim. Your brain is right. You have only two short months (less, really) to prepare. It is coming. IT IS COMING.
Tim let out a quite sob before pausing in confusion and turning. “Jay?”
The man in question gave a sympathetic smile. “Hey, Birdy.”
“What are you doing here?”
Jason shrugged and looked away from him. Put his hands in his pockets and said, “You weren’t answering my texts?”
Tim furrowed his brow before pulling out his phone, pressing the power button and, “Oh, shit. My phone’s dead.”
Jason huffed something that was almost a laugh. “Figured. You’re usually pretty quick to respond.”
Tim nodded and wiped his eyes, “So, uh, what did you text me about?”
Jason frowned, looking a lot like he wanted to ask Tim why he was crying and was, for whatever reason, resisting the urge. “You got benched?”

Tim gets banned from patrol and has to cancel plans with Jason to blow up a narcotics shipment. Jason does the only reasonable thing and breaks into Tim's house to ask him questions about it.
“rachel, why’d you stop doing the jaytim week progress report??”
that’s an excellent question. it’s bc i stopped making progress. 😃
BUT!!! i have now completed a fic!!
more thoughts/explanations below the cut!
so a couple of days may get moved around and/or respun entirely, i’m not sure. bc i know i want to include most of the wips ive started for this, but they can fit multiple prompts across different days so if i get inspired by something else or i have a previous wip that fits one of the prompts, i may sub some things out idk
rn im focusing on day 5 bc i think i can get that done quickly, im abt halfway done with that
day 9 i think is gonna stay the same prompt, but im going to change the actual fic to interpret the tattoo prompt differently (i say vaguely to not give spoilers for either in case i use that later). it’s gonna be a lot shorter so i shouldn’t have an issue especially since it’s later in the event
day 2, 6, and 8 are contenders for respins 😬
day 4 may need to be shortened and i know i need to rewrite the beginning at the very least, but ive got a clearer idea of where im taking it now
day 3 and 10 i’m just procrastinating bc they’re smut and day 1 had smut so im taking a break from writing it
day 7 i’m not prioritizing just bc it’s later in the event and i have more time, should not be an issue
and i think that’s everything! so excited to see what everyone else is working on for jaytim week!! 😋
