Jaz-Kat requested I Love You Will Still Sound The Same by Oh Honey for CougarJensen.
“Twenty-seven, twenty-eight, twenty-nine—”
Cougar swatted at Jake’s fingers as he turned the page of his book.
“Now I have to start over,” Jake complained, grabbing Cougar’s beard again. “One gray fur, two gray furs, three...” Jake counted as he separated the gray hairs in Cougar’s beard.
“Don’t you have things to be doing?” Cougar asked, glancing at Jake’s own graying goatee. Jake was blond enough that they were harder to pick out, but even Jake’s seemingly endless youthfulness couldn’t escape the march of time.
“I’ll do it later. I’m busy with something very important,” Jake told him, counting out three more hairs.
“I see,” Cougar said, turning another page and swatting at Jake’s fingers again.
“Dammit Cougs!” Jake complained.
“What?” Cougar asked innocently, grabbing Jake’s fingers and kissing the tips.
“Don’t try to sweet talk me, Cougar. I’m doing the Lord’s work,” Jake said, tugging Cougar’s beard.
Cougar raised an eyebrow then reached for Jake’s dyed head of hair. “I think I see—”
“Hold your lying tongue,” Jake cried, trying to fight off Cougar’s hands, but Cougar pulled him close, so he had nowhere to go. “Stop that!”
Cougar grinned, foiling Jake’s attempts to throw him off and sending the swing they sat on back and forth violently.
“Dad, what are you doing?” their daughter, Carrie, asked from the bottom step of the porch. She lived down the street, probably afraid her fathers would get into trouble without her vigilance.
“Carrie, tell your father I don’t have gray hairs,” Jake told her.
“Papá, be nice to dad. You know he’s sensitive bout his old age,” Carrie said, giving them both pointed looks.
“I’m not old!” Jake shouted.
“Shut up, Jake. Everyone knows you’re old.” Their neighbor shouted over the fence. Jake shot a dirty look at the hedge hiding the man from sight.
“You look distinguished,” Carrie placated.
Jake frowned, but Cougar kissed it away.
“Seriously, will you two ever outgrow PDAs?” Carrie asked, exasperated. She’d lived through a youth full of horribly timed parental PDAs.
“Why should I stop kissing your father? He’s still hot,” Jake asked her.
“You two are gross. I just came to see if you wanted to come over for dinner. Jakey’s got some weird science project he wants to show you,” she said.
“We’ve got bingo at the veteran’s hall tonight, but we’ll come over to check out the squirt’s project before we go,” Jake told her, leaning against Cougar.
“Dad, shooting bottles behind the hall isn’t actually the same as bingo,” Carrie told him.
“Sure it is. When Cougar hits five in a row, I shout bingo and he wins a prize,” Jake told her, grinning from ear to ear.
Carrie rolled her eyes. “I’ll see you two later. Try not to shoot Uncle Clay this week,” she said.
“That was an unfortunate accident because I wasn’t wearing my glasses,” Jake told her retreating back. Cougar just snorted at him and tugged on his hair.
Same goes with Jersey accents. Especially after Jersey shore my accent has been the butt of many jokes. People are idiots over here.
Ohhh that kinda sucks :/// I heard of Jersey shore (a reality show with really tanned people?) and I feel bad that your accent is laughed at...it doesn’t mean people with the accents are dumb..some people are way too judgmental

I’m sorry but this made me snort XD
It was seriously the first thing my eyes went to when I opened the document, and I was so horrified then I laughed when I saw the doc title. I really need to stop writing completely different kinds of fics simultaneously.
Dress sort of dressy casual? Like slacks with a nice blouse or a nice summer dress that’s like at most two colors. Like keep it simple and comfy but make it look like you tried? (idk what you have in your closet but I’m sure you have something in there that can work for you :] )

SPOKANE. Ok, now that I’ve lost my chill about my state of residence,
a dress. Wear a lovely maxi dress of a very light fabric, or a sundress.
Actually, sundress. Those things are A+ for Eastern Washington heat, and have been my go to for a week.
Hmmmmm well I don’t usually wear a lot of dresses or skirts 1) because I need pockets and 2) because the ones with pockets are ugly and also 3) everyone always acts so goddamn surprised and I prefer to wear things with legs on them lmao But I do like sundresses generally, as long as the waist is cinched.
Honestly I was thinking like, where can I find some linen stuff. Like some nice linen shorts and a thin blouse or button-down shirt.... Still need shoes tho lol all I have are sneakers, boots, and sandals that I can’t wear without pain.
AND I have just been informed that the wedding IS fancy after all and they’re wearing tuxedos and the colors are “black and icy blue.” Oh boy. Luckily I of course don’t need to look as fancy as my mom or my uncles but still a little bit. I might be able to find some lightweight slacks or something. If my spectators were tan and cream instead of stark b&w they’d be easier to match with like a pastel outfit.

Have I told you I love how your brain works, because I do.
Haha, well thank you. Oh no, it’s the end where Joe goes and finds her for the ball, and how cute would it be if Cougar went after him to find him? Roughing up Jake’s neighbor for info, finding him all sad and wet. Kisses in the rain are always a plus. I’m a menace to myself.
jaz-kat replied to your post:Writing about shifter Jensen tonight. Then I have...
Question: (not sure if you have answered this before) what is happening with the Cougar shifter fic? (Just curious.)
I haven’t answered this before, I don’t think. It will be finished. It got moved to the back burner when I started writing Salvation Between Bookends only because I have five fics that I got to 20k on then stopped to write something else then didn’t finish (I’ll one day finish them too I swear). So, I promised myself I’d finish writing this one if it killed me. This weekend, I took a break from finishing the last chapter just to clear my head, but tomorrow, I’m hoping to get it done or close to it.
Then I will be returning to finish the shifter Cougar fic. So that’s a priority behind the current fic, and I will finish it and finish posting it all within the next month. My problem is that I sit down to write a ficlet just to clear my head, then it turns into another long fic. Like today’s fic that was going to be 1k and turned into almost 7k.
tl:dr Cat’s Out of the Bag will update hopefully soon.
