Now some of you may know Sweet Thing from their single "Change of Seasons" (i don't mind it but it's not even on par with the other songs on their LP) which is the same way I heard of this band. It wasn't until they released "Lazy Susan" as a single (which is fanfuckintastic) that I decided to give the whole album a chance. Well holy shit, I was rewarded for my leap of faith.
Lorraine is my favourite song off of the album for these reasons: 1) the catchy/fresh sounding rock instrumentals 2) the hook 3) the lyrics (i may or may not be thinking about making my middle name Lorraine) 4) THE JAZZ BREAK!!!!! (seriously how many rock songs have you heard have a jazz break in the middle?!)
If a rock band can properly integrate a jazz break into one of their songs and still have it flow with the rest of the instrumentals, they get big points in my book. So there you have my reasons for loving this song. I have no idea who Lorraine is but I want to meet her. After you hear this song you will too.
