friends and fellows, specifically those who have not donated blood/plasma (anywhere, but most specifically with the Red Cross), a quick question and a request for help:
if you can't donate for medical reasons, pretend those don't apply for a moment...
if you were going to donate blood, what would you have questions about? the sign-in? the sign-up? the actual process? the requirements? taking care of yourself after? another concern? something kind of random?
if you've ever thought about donating blood but something specific is holding you back, what is that something?
I'm looking to write a quick little pamphlet about donating blood to try to encourage more people in my community to do it. my plan is to take it to local events, wear a few pieces of Red Cross merch and a sign, and hope people come talk to me. I think it will work! but donating blood is something I've been doing for well over a decade at this point, so I would appreciate any input from those in my target audience.
actually let me slide in a poll:
I've never donated blood before and my biggest question(s) are about...
signing up
signing in
preparing/the requirements
the actual donation part
post-donation
something else (leave a comment!)
any reblogs appreciated to help get more answers. thank you!
ETA if anyone sends in specific questions I will answer them here too!
