Janet Seidel
Jazz pianist and singer Janet Seidel was born in 1955 in Cummins, South Australia. Successful in both her home country and abroad, Seidel was called "Australia's first lady of jazz singing". Over the course of her career, she released 18 albums. Her album On Moon Of Manakoora received the Bell Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album of 2006. Seidel performed at Australia's most important jazz festivals, and she toured the US, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Janet Seidel died in 2017 at the age of 62.
