do you know anything bout making irc bots?

Uhm, I used to? I had a markov chain-based chatbot once for the MFGG IRC like, a decade ago... but that stuff is lost to the sands of time (along with a decent Metroid engine in MMF2, aaaargh!!)

Try Googling? I mean the basic IRC bot just takes raw chat text from the channel as inputs, throws it through some regular expressions to determine what the command is, then send a message based on what it interpreted. It's not too hard.
