Judas Iscariot, “Superstar” Costume (David Jakobs) Theatre Bonn (2013) and Theatre Dortmund (2014-15) Jesus Christ Superstar Production (2/2)

Costume Notes: His markings remind me a bit of a stylized geometric skeleton. From the looks of it, it appears to be a sheer shirt with black markings on it (thanks to @saveugoodmadam for the info, I watched the Superstar recording closer and you were right it’s a shirt)

Production Notes: This was a co-production between Theatre Bonn and Theatre Dortmund. From what I know Judas and Mary stayed the same while the Jesus, Herod, Peter, and Caiaphas actor changed. 

Trailers (Bonn, Dortmund) for both productions are available on each theatre’s respective YouTube channel. On Theater Dortmund channel they have “Last Supper” up. David Jakobs’ “Heaven on their minds,” full “Last Supper” “Superstar” is available on YouTube. Klaws’ “Gethsemane” from Dortmund and Seibert’s version from the Bonn are also on YouTube with visuals.

Costume Notes: His outfit stayed the same for the switch between theatre’s. I think he only wears his scarf for the kiss scene. He has a brown and black “leather” bracelets on his right hand. In Theater Dortmund he gains a metal(?) bracelet to add to the other two bracelets. The second row left photo Jakobs only has on the new metal?/silver coloured bracelet but I’m guessing it was just for the promo shot or some error.

Production Notes: This was a co-production between Theatre Bonn and Theatre Dortmund. From what I know Judas and Mary stayed the same while the Jesus, Herod, Peter, and Caiaphas actor changed. I think the third row photo is from “Everything's alright reprise”, (it’s definitely not “Everything’s Alright” but Mary M. is singing so that is why it’s probably the reprise). I guess in that reprise Mary is helping both Judas and Jesus sleep. While Judas still shows some hostility towards her (ex. the ointment scene), but based on that photo Mary M. and Judas in this version seems to be played more as “frenemies” rather than rivals like in some productions (for example the Swedish Arena Tour production).
