Now that I mainly focus on Jp shows and JCS Judas I completely forgot about the time I did every named and unnamed barricade boy from the 2012 les mis movie. What a time, I truly don't know how I did that hahaha

Judas Iscariot, “Superstar” Costume (Drew Sarich) Jesus Christ Superstar Eishalle Amstetten 2005 (3/3) 

Costume Designer: Robert Schwaighofer

Jesus: Steven Seale

Mary Magdalene: Kudra Owens

Costume notes: A red fallen angel Judas. He wears a red suit with a black shirt and black cummerbund. The shirt is unbuttoned at the collar, and he has a black sequins scarf? hanging around his neck. His shoes just look like dress shoes that are black with a heel, and they have a somewhat pointed look with it narrowing at the toe. He wears a black hat. His red wings are secured below the suit jacket, so when seeing his back, it just looks like red wings sprouting from slits in the jacket.

There is a full recording available on a number of video sites. Also Drew Sarich has done a lot JCS productions, though more as Jesus than Judas, but you'll find many videos of him singing JCS outside of this production on YouTube as well.

Judas Iscariot, “The Last Supper”- "Judas’ Death” Costume (Drew Sarich) Jesus Christ Superstar Eishalle Amstetten 2005 (2/3)

Costume notes: Again, as I wrote in part 1 the promo pictures (first row L+R) are different from the stage recording version of the costume. The necklaces in the promo pictures aren't worn on stage. This is his second costume in the show and from what I can tell, he simply changes out his red vest-tunic to a red striped robe. The robe is knee length. There is a red patterned trim that goes around the cuffs, collar and hem of the robe that is also used for the decorative swirls on the side under the arm. There are slits under the arm, which I assume are for mobility. He also wears a ring on his right-hand pinky; it looks to be a thick gold plate like ring. From watching the recording, the ring only appears in Act II.

Judas Iscariot, “Heaven On Their Minds”- "Damned for All Time/Blood Money” Costume (Drew Sarich) Jesus Christ Superstar Eishalle Amstetten 2005 (1/3)

Costume notes: Half of the photos are from promotional shoots (1st row L+R, all of row 2 and row 3 R) so there are parts of the costume that are inaccurate compared to what the finalised stage version looks or at the very least compared to the recorded stage version. The main differences are that for jewelry he only has the leather bracer and the rope necklace for the recording, his jeans aren't as ripped, he doesn't have the circular disk belt for the recording and unfortunately, his sash looks to be a bit different as well. My guess to what is up with the stage sash is that it's the promo sash worn under a new leather sash with leather cord stitching along the edges and something decorative on the middle with charms that hang off (part 2 has better photos). In the third-row center, you can see the sash almost splits into two in the back and one-part sags down, and I believe the part that sags downs is the red sash we see in the promo pics. From what I can tell the rope like necklace makes its first appearance during "Hosanna." Impressively, he looks to be barefoot for the show.

If anyone wants to try to better understand the costume themselves, I recommend the bilibili version of the recording, it's a bit crisper than the ones on YouTube and vk versions.

Icarus, ,, its me again 👉👈 may i ask for a costume breakdown of drew sarich's judas in the 2005 austrian production? Especially his freakish necklace is an enigma to me pleaease maybe sometime 🙏

Hello again! And yes, I'd be happy to make a post; however, I'm mind meltingly busy right now so I don't really foresee me being able to post anytime soon but when I have time again, I can see what I can find on Drew Sarich judas and make a post!

I was just gifted the cd of the JCS 70's movie soundtrack!!! Can't wait to listen to Carl Anderson on loop. I am now the proud owner of 4 different version of JCS: the 70's movie, concept album, John Legend, and Swedish version!

Costume Notes: Another quite traditional crucifixion Jesus outfit with simply a white fabric wrapped around. He even has the crown of thorns on his head.

Costume Notes: A pretty traditional looking Jesus with a simple white robe that has flare sleeves. He also has a white robe wrapped twice around the waste and knotted at the side.

Costume Notes: Pontius Pilate wears a matching set of black leather shirt and trousers. The shirt is collared and short sleeved. It has breast pockets on either side. He also has black knee-high boots with silver buckles on the outer top side and on the outer side of the ankle. Over the black ensemble he had a black fabric with golden patterning draped around him. For accessories he has black leather cuffs on both wrists and a golden laurel wreath on his head.

Costume Notes: Herod wears a sheer pink robe with golden stripes and a purple diamond pattern. His wrap style trousers are orange? with purple/pink stripes along with a purple sash belting it that has some sort of circular pattern to it and golden tassels on the end. He also has gold rings, a gold necklace with a golden dollar sign hanging from it and a colourful floral wreath on his head.

Costume Notes: Caiaphas is dressed in a green base robe with pleated sleaves. Over it he has a red robe, which I believe is supposed to be like the ephod. Above it all he wears what looks to be a maroon/purple velvet hooded robe with orange lining. For accessories he has a golden collar piece and a golden breastplate; both are decorated with jewels. The breastplate is called a priestly breastplate or a breast piece of judgment and would have been worn by a high priest of the Israelites. He also has a sash and turban that are both brown/marron with golden decorations.

Costume notes: She wears a red dress made of fabric with a raised red dot pattern on it. It's an empire waist style, with beaded decoration going around under the bust. there are also two strands of beads that hand off at the sternum. A matching string of beads acts as the strap of the dress. She has a necklace that matches the beads on the dress, it also has a gold medallion in the center. She also has gold bangles on her arms and some sort of chunky golden earrings. From what I can tell she has two different overlayers, one being a shear red robe with gold circular patterns and the other being a maroon knit shawl.

Jesus: Nicholas Rodriguez

Costume notes: A "Superstar" Judas with a striking resemblance to the 2000 Jérôme Pradon Judas. He looks to be wearing a skintight black top with a red leather jacket, flared black vinyl looking trousers, along with some sort of black shoe. He also has a red belt that has a circular black buckle decorated with a red star. Judas also has some sort of thick necklace on and has traded in his glasses for shades.
