she drew the short straw , truly –––– could have been paired with absolutely anyone else but she was given alicia , the gods were not on her side today . decides to look on the bright side , though , if she had been paired with xiomara , she’d have her brain picked constantly for the entirety of the task ––– at least alicia believes she’s empty headed and that’s the end of it . doesn’t speak when the pairs are drawn , only heads upstairs silently to get dressed for the day . settles on a pair of ripped black jeans , a cropped hoodie , vans and fingerless gloves –––– it’s cold out , should probably wear a hat too but decides against it , doesn’t need static hair today . ‘ come on , wicked witch of the west . ’ femme shouts as she jogs down the stairs and toward the front door . ‘ lets get this over with . ’ doesn’t even ask which of them were to be driving , immediately hikes over to alicia’s jeep , waiting for her to unlock the vehicle . the drive to the gas station was mainly filled with silence , neither of them wanting to converse with one another , the only noise to be heard was lydia’s acrylics tapping against the screen of her phone . as soon as the faux investigators arrive at the scene , red head jumps out , expressing her desire for a cold bottle of water but is only when the pair enter the building , she decides against it ––– fresh air being the only thing she craves . ‘ what the hell ? ’ she grimaces , places a hand over her mouth as she tries not to breathe in as often . ‘ this place is in serious need of a health inspection . ’ optics befall the lone attendant , standing behind the till , dark eyes flicker between the two girls . ‘ okay , i get it now . he looks like what this place smells like . ’ lydia whispers , head turns to alicia , knowing brunette would have a similar reaction .
