glad you're watching mandolorian. In my opinion the best things to come out of Disney having Star Wars are 1. the Phineus and Ferb crossover, nothing will change my mind on this, it was glorious. 2. the mandolorian, for pretty much the same reasons as you. 3. Rouge one, don't remember all that much but I like it better than the other new movies. the rest are all different levels of meh.
