would be a lot more impactful if it didn’t give the sense - immediately -  of a paradox, a fix that has already happened, a sequence of events simply occurring and twists and puzzles and decisions just motions to go through - inevitable

probably would have helped if he hadn’t given away the game from the opening theme.

it’s the utmost example of what’s wrong with moffat’s writing

and then it doesn’t even make any sense!!! because why would River nudge things along by saying the Doctor’s name and then discourage Clara to do what she has to and has already done? cheap nonsense stakes

and the whispermen? that was the shortest mystery ever - the shortest mythology ever. just a vehicle, just a facade, just some tall white men who look scary - AGAIN

and of course - putting his hands all over the whole history with Clara, who’s barely earned her stripes - unearned exactly BECAUSE she was put in the story expressly for this purpose.

it now makes perfect sense to me that River would think the Doctor doesn’t love her at all - he never spoke to her even though he could hear her ??? they always had the psychic link but he didn’t engage because he thought it would hurt HIM too much? what a selfish asshole

they can even kiss!!! they can touch and interact. what a SCUMBAG

he wanted to leave her behind because she’s ‘just’ an echo. ok...

say goodbye like you’re going to come back? and so he says goodbye like he’s done hundreds of times before? what was different about that. bullshit

now it’s implied that River knew exactly what was all gonna happen. ‘spoilers’ their inverse timelines are no longer inverse at all - it was said they were in the library episodes but really they’re just ALL over the place

that means he could still meet the living her it never made any sense

so....why was there a tomb with his open timeline again?

there’s just something so icky about how more and more ENTANGLED every single companion becomes

Amy meets the Doctor as a child and he becomes formative to the extreme. River’s whole birth, and childhood and life is determined by his person. And now Clara, who was apparently literally born to save him, and she is ‘his’ impossible girl. that’s just not. just not very great. three strikes, you’re out...
