There are plenty of days I just don’t find anything interesting or meaningful. I think Mesechet Rosh Hashana is often less interesting than Mesechet Eruvin. But the communal commitment keeps me going and often enough as find something worth telling someone else about. And of course the memes.
Yeah, I’m with you. I honestly still feel that Berakhot was the most interesting and I don’t know if it’s just because it was the first tractate, when everything was shiny and new, or if Berakhot really was just that much more fun. There are definitely times when it’s hard to wring meaning out of the daf, let alone comedy.
I feel like someone should (possibly someone has done) go through the Talmud, pull out all the funny granddad-rabbi stories, and publish them as “Now That’s What I Call Talmud” or something.
