I wanted her to be somewhat similar to Gambit in species, since she's sort of a response to his character. So raccoons and minks are both part of the broader mustelid family group
Minks have been prized for centuries for their fur in noblity and royalty clothing, and Fantomex has a lot of those airs of wealth and opulence (while not actually being part of that royalty...)
And yknow what, I have a huge mustelid bias and I love Famo
Also I know that I generally keep things comic-accurate on this blog, but Fantomex being anything other than a trans woman isn't real to me
