The other show I’m not curating: artists making tabletop models. Thinking about Julie Becker’s work yesterday got me thinking about the model as a form in contemporary art, and I dug up some old pictures of work I’ve see. House chunks forever and always ❤️ Ok ok, not quite, this is a street chunk. But Julie Becker’s work is still about architecture and memory, which I am writing my dissertation on (not really). The model reminds me of a strange meeting of the Jean-Luc Goddard cinema models that were at Miguel Abreu earlier this year, and Mike Kelley’s “Educational Complex” (which was on view at the Whitney recently-ish). #JulieBecker #JeanLucGoddard #MikeKelley #contemporaryart #icalondon
