Say It Loud!
Say It Loud! presents and discusses Jeannette Ehlers' practice and it's complexity and relevance for the understanding of history and contemporary society.
Through photography, stills from video art works and performances, newly written texts and interviews by Mathias Danbolt, Alanna Lockward, Lotte Løvholm and Dr. Rolando Vazquez, the book discusses topics such as identity, ethnicity and history, where Denmark's colonial history is the central focal point.
Through her aesthetic works, Ehlers links the official residence of the Danish prime minister, Marienborg, together with Haitian revolution, human trafficking, Kendrick Lamar, slave whip, black skin and personal history.
Say It Loud! is edited by Lotte Løvholm and Ida Højgaard Thjømøe with texts by Mathias Danbolt, Jeannette Ehlers, Alanna Lockward, Lotte Løvholm, Rolando Vázquez and Nikolaj Kunsthal and graphic design by Eller med a.
