happy two months of this nonsense
honestly, doing this daily brain diary has been a little eye-opening in terms of how wired my brain is to music
like this morning, in my half-sleep, i tried to force a song to come up in my head, but it didn't really work. nothing was clear, and it really did feel forced
but then the second i woke up for real, bam. a song hits me. and it's absolutely not anything i would have been able to think of consciously. it just Happens
not to mention, because of this, i feel a lot more in-tune with the songs that come to me throughout the day and how they come to me. even just this morning again, in the past like 15 minutes, i've had word association dredge up like three different songs in my head, and immediately it makes perfect sense to me why
and then there are just songs that come to me randomly but not when i first wake up. they really just come out of nowhere like, here's an example: earlier, i was talking to myself about This Blog and referred to my brain radio as a phenomenon, instantly making me think of Phenomenon by Thousand Foot Krutch, which then - i think because of nostalgia/genre association - led me to get Whispers in the Dark by Skillet in my head. and it hadn't gone away Until i was typing this and i read "when i first wake up" and immediately it's Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by WHAM!
now imagine that happening like 20 times a day. every single day. that's my life. and i kinda love it tbh, that's why i started this blog i usually tune a lot of that stuff out, but i wanted to bring more attention to it because i've always found it really fascinating, especially when i'll wake up or just get hit randomly with a song i hadn't heard or thought of in literal ages. i also wanted to document just how truly eclectic my music taste is, because it really is all over the map. i just like music, man. heck, some of the songs that come to mind aren't even that good, but they still stick
