Bogotà to Cali

Our final day in Bogotà we spent in search of the famous bus terminal. We have quickly learnt that even if someone draws you a map or how many people you ask in the street....no one knows where it is. As you can probably gather we spent 2 hours walking round and round trying to find the bus terminal- and even 6 police officers sent us in the wrong way, so like true travellers we gave up had some lunch and returned back to the hostel hoping that someone there could book us a taxi! 👎 not winning. We finally made it to the bus terminal !! 🚌👏👏 Next debate : Brandon wants to get on the Extreme ViP bus that has reclining seats, air con, Wifi and DVDs--- at a wonderful 135,000 Pesos. And I want to get on the one that has all that is within our budget too at a staggering 40,000 Pesos per person. After 20 mins the decision is made and we are going with my choice of 40,000Pesos!! Yippeee we can eat tomorrow. Brandon is sulking next to me on board this pretty decent and comfortable bus and then there it is the moment we have all been waiting for 'You were right Hannah'..... The DVD that was played with Transporter 3(bit weird as there were kids on board)but nonetheless the whole film was in Spanish and with no subtitles!!! Thankfully we didn't spend the 95,000 extra each for a film we didn't understand. Hannah 7- Brandon 2. 11 hours with our horrendous driver Jeff Gordan- who by the way felt the need to overtake every other lorry and bus on this mountain, we thankfully made it to Cali at 6am. A hop, skip and a taxi ride away we found our hostel Yo=Viajero. (Brandon's choice because of the pool and cinema room). We couldn't check in till 2pm so to kill time we were told to do the '3 crosses Mountain hike. Some of the photos are already up on the blog, but the views from the top were amazing. When we got back we checked into our rooms,and like a true gentleman Brandon let me chose my bed first. Luckily for me I saw that one bed still had last nights party antics on so I chose the other. Pool time and a well deserved beer! We couldn't leave the hostel after dark as it too dangerous so we had some yummy dragonfruit we bought at the fruit market in Bogotà and 2 cliff bars. 💪 We booked ourselves in for Salsa lessons that night but ended up being in bed by 7.30pm as we were knackered! Today (14/4/15) we continue the rest of our journey to Ecuador - we have heard this will be the hardest part of our trip. But for now is pool time!
