Ghostsign bonanza
A visual feast of ghostsigns is unveiled this morning by The Gentle Author on his Spitalfields Life blog. It features the work of Jeffrey Johnson, the otherwise unknown photographer who deposited an archive of his work with the Bishopsgate Institute and then promptly disappeared. Here are just a few of the shots, taken during the 1970s and 80s.
The ever-entertaining Gentle Author has been featuring the photos of Jeffrey Johnson on his Spitalfield’s Life blog, and very fine they are too. Apparently Johnson left a stack of photos of 1970s and 80s London at the Bishopsgate Institute and pretty much disappeared. There are many more evocative shots to explore, besides Apostal’s on Upper Street, above, and the sweet shop window in Toynbee Street, below.
Haunting Of Cellblock 11 Trailer
Sorry this is so last minute, but just got notified of it:
Theme: The Bride of Christ
Speakers: Jeffery D. Johnson, Larry Hubbard, Bo Prather, Rusty Grant
There is perhaps no other more important doctrine for daily living than what it means to be a member of the Bride of Christ; that is, His Church. We are pleased to announce the theme for the 2015 Sola Scriptura Expository Preaching Conference – “The Bride of Christ.” Please make plans now to join the conference for this most vital topic in the life of every believer.
The Sola Scriptura Expository Preaching Conference was started by pastors in North and Central Louisiana to bring back Christ centered preaching to local churches. The purpose of this conference is to call pastors and church members back to the basic principles of biblical doctrine and encourage all people to honor God in their daily lives. This year’s conference will be held at Edgewood Reformed Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA. Get Map
