You had no idea what you were even doing at this party. You usually just keep your head down and follow the rules to a T, but everyone had been talking about this. Every student in UA was here, and somehow your friend, Ururaka, had convinced you to come along. When you walked in, you immediately found a corner you could hide in and stayed there, an empty cup in hand. You looked around, seeing if you recognized anyone else here. When your eyes fell upon a familiar blue haired boy you immediately looked away, a blush threatening your cheeks. Tenya Iida, a star student in class 1-A, admittedly very handsome, and very to the book about all of the rules. He was someone you had looked up to since you first started, and he had always been nice to you. While you were in a daze thinking about Tenya, you failed to notice him walk up to you with a smile.
“Y/L/N! Glad to see you here. Remember to keep your drink with you at all times, and don't drink as it’s forbidden on school property.” He spoke with a few waves of his hand, and you giggled at him, nodding.
“Of course, Iida, don’t worry. I’m surprised to see you here, though.” He nodded, moving to stand next to you.
“Well, someone has to make sure that the rules are being followed.” He looked at you, a question on his mind, though he wasn’t sure how to ask without sounding strange. “Are you...here with someone?” He sounded innocent enough that you didn't catch on to his true intentions of the question. You shook your head, looking up at him.
“Nope. Are you?” He shook his head, grabbing a cup for himself. The two of you sat in silence as the party went on. Before either of you could break it, someone grabbed the both of you, dragging you to a room where a game was going on. How cliche, you thought, but decided to go along with it if Tenya did. Surprisingly, he stayed in the room, participating in what seemed to be truth or dare. You stayed a little bit away from the circle, hoping no one picked you. Only embarrassment comes from these kinds of games, you had read enough fan-fictions to know that much. Unfortunately, one of the students saw you and decided that you were it, asking you the dreaded question.
“Truth or dare?” He asked, giving you a smirk. You suddenly felt the pressure, your skin crawling with all of the eyes that were suddenly on you. You glanced up, meeting the gaze of Tenya before answering quietly.
“Truth?” You didn’t like where this was going, but you didn't want to look like a loser in front of everyone.
“Alright then. Tell me, do you have a crush on anyone at UA?” You wanted to shake your head and say no, but there was a strange feeling that started to take over you. It was like static slowly crawling inside of you, your head going fuzzy. You then noticed that the boy who asked you the question’s eyes were glowing, and you realized that he was using his quirk. Must have been a truth quirk or something, which means that your well-hidden crush was about to be on display for everyone to know, including the man himself.
“Y-yes, I do. I have a crush on Tenya.” Your words came out choked as everyone started teasing you, oohing and giggling as your face turned beet red.
“Why?” The boy asked, continuing to use his quirk on you, much to your dismay.
“Because he’s a great guy. He’s very determined and his quirk is amazing and I know he’s destined for great things. He’s also very nice and has never treated me badly, plus he’s incredibly handsome and fun to be around!” A deep exhale left your body and the static feeling went away as the boy’s quirk was no longer being used on you. Your feet suddenly had a mind of their own as you took off, not stopping until you were outside of the house. Iida was a few feet behind you. He placed his hand on your shoulder, a sad look on his face as he saw tears form in your eyes.
“Y/N,” he cooed, frowning as you pulled away from him.
“Tenya, please, don’t. I’m already embarrassed enough. I don’t need your rejection as well, okay? Please, just...leave me alone.” You started to walk away, just wanting to be in your bed, hiding from the world.
“Wait, Y/N, please.” He placed his hand on your shoulder again, pulling you into his chest with a tight hug. Your breath caught in your throat slightly as you processed what exactly was going on. “I have a confession to make.” He stayed silent for what seemed like hours before peaking again, resting his cheek on the top of your head. “I like you too, Y/N. I have for a long time. I’m sorry that those students did that to you, but I’m glad one of us finally said something.” You looked up at him, shocked at his confession. He liked you back? Your mind was blown, truly. You suddenly smiled, kissing his cheek. He seemed to malfunction as his face turned red, his arms starting to wave slightly as he got incredibly flustered. “Let me walk you to your room, I want to make sure you get there safe.” You nodded, taking his hand as the two of you made your way to your dorm.
