“Young Bakugou! Can I talk to you for a moment?” All Might jogged lightly behind Katsuki, trying to catch up to him. Katsuki nodded, stopping completely so he could turn towards the other blond man. “I need you to tell me everything you know about this situation with Y/N, I think she’s in a lot of danger.” Katsuki’s eyes widened, a slight panic chilling his body. He sighed softly, crossing his toned arms across his chest.
“I already told you everything. Aren’t you interrogating her right now anyway?” He raised a brow, and All Might’s face fell into an expression of sadness and worry. Katsuki tensed, brows furrowing. “Right?” All Might just shook his head, leading his student to a bench nearby.
“It didn’t happen the way I thought it would. Y/N said she wanted to speak with me only, then asked if she could take a breath. Then, the next thing I knew, the other teachers and the police ran through the office.” Bakugou’s eyes widened, his body standing immediately as he waited for the rest of the story. “It was about to be a bloodbath until she ran through us and stopped the one they call Dabi from using his fire quirk.” He sighed softly, frowning deeply. “She saved us, then left with him.”
“She left with him?” Bakugou started screaming, ranting away about how you were an idiot, until he trailed off and sat down with a sadness in his eyes that could tug on anyone’s heartstrings. “This is my fault. I should have said something before. I just didn’t think she’d switch sides like that. Especially not for some burned asshole like that.” His voice was low, and so was his head. Toshinori shook his head, placing his large hand on Bakugou’s back.
“I still don’t believe that she’s switched sides. There was something she said before she left that leads me to believe she’s still on our side, she’s just stuck in this situation. So, you and I are gonna have to work on our own. The police are out to arrest her and let that be it. But you and I? We know her better than that. Right, young Bakugou?”
“Of course I know that. But isn’t going against the police a bad idea? I mean, we could get in a lot of trouble by interfering, All Might.” Bakugou sighed, and All Might leaned back on the bench as he thought about his answer.
“She said she’s doing all of this for the people she cares about. And that includes you, young Bakugou. We can’t fail her now that she needs us more than ever.”
“What’s the plan then? How would we even go about finding her?”
“That I have a plan for. The police are coming to talk to you not too long from now. They’re going ask you to contact Y/N and get her to talk long enough to get her location.”
“But you just said that we have to do this ourselves. Wouldn’t we just be helping them fin and arrest her?” All Might shook his head, resting his elbows on his knees.
“We’ll do it until we have her location. We can move a lot faster than they can, Katsuki. We’ll just have to get to her before they do and get her out. That way, Dabi will be arrested, Y/N will be safe, and then she’ll be able to tell them why she did this and they’ll let her go.” He looked at Bakugou with nothing but seriousness in his face. “Are you willing to help me save her?”
“Anything it takes to make sure she’s safe.” He didn’t miss a breath with his answer, the two men shaking hands before separating. All might shuffled his feet back to his office, letting out a soft sigh as he pressed his back on his door, closing it completely. Katsuki walked back to the dorms, hands deep in his pocket and his brows very furrowed as a million questions ran through his mind.
Was this all his fault? Should he have said something different? Did you really think a villain was better than him? All of these depressing and guilt carrying questions weighed on his muscular shoulders as he ignored Kiri calling out to him. He called him an idiot before slamming is door shut, sparks starting to skip over his body.
“Goddamn idiot!” His fist connected to the wall, a very large hole burned into the concrete in front of him. His breath heaved as his brain finally started to process everything completely. Next thing he knew, he was throwing punches one right after the other. When the final blow landed, his ears started to ring with a deafening tone, a groan that was silent to him rising out of his throat. He held his ears, eyes squeezed shut as the bridge of his nose started to burn. Tears formed, almost immediately cascading down his red cheeks. He fell back onto the bed, pulling the pillow you had used a few days before to his chest, pressing his face as far into it as he could.
“Hello?” Your voice was groggy as you answered the phone, which had rung about 6 separate times. Dabi sighed, lazily turning over so he could wrap his arms around you. You smiled softly, tracing patterns into his burn covered body. He laid his head on your chest, falling back asleep in record time as he clung to you.
“Y/N, where did you go? They said you ran off with that villain.” He spat those words like venom, making even you recoil from the phone slightly. You leaned your head back, running your fingers through Dabi’s hair with your free hand. You contemplated just hanging up, running away and never looking back. But you at least owed Katsuki an explanation.
“‘Suki, I told you before, you just have to trust me on this one, okay? I know what I’m doing.” You heard him scoff, just knowing he rolled his eyes at you. What you didn’t know, however, was that his eyes were glued to the screen in front of him. He watched as the police’s computer used radio towers to see the general area you were in. You didn’t know that his heart was almost beating out of his chest with anger and fear for your life.
“Teddy bear, just tell me where you are and I can come get you. I’ll help you figure it all out with the police. You know All Might is still on your side, and they respect him. He can help.” You fell silent, your fingers slowing down in Dabi’s hair. You felt your lip quiver slightly as you remembered the last look on All Might’s face you saw. So much disappointment. You shook your head, pulling yourself back.
“No. He wants nothing to do with me now, which I knew would happen with almost everyone. But I’ll tell you what I told All Might. Everything that I’ve been doing is for the sole purpose of protecting you guys. Whether you believe me or not, I just want to make sure we all get out of this alive.”
“Oh, so it’s just pure business? You have no emotional attachment to that bastard?” You super, eyes trailing down to the naked man sleeping on top of you. You twirled a few of his hairs gently, a soft breath coming from your lips. You felt your heart swell as you touched his jaw with your thumb.
“I’m hanging up now, ‘Suki. Don’t try anything, okay? Please. Just let me protect you.” You pulled the phone away, hanging up before another fight started between you two. You put your phone on the small nightstand next you, shifting in the bed so you could wrap your arms around him, to which he smiled sleepily.
Katsuki looked up at the officers, glancing at the location they were able to pick up. He excused himself, texting All Might the location while still listening in as the door was cracked.
“Alright, it’s time to move out. You know the deal, if you need to use violence, do it. They’re both considered villains, so let’s lock them up.” Katsuki hurried out, meeting All Might on the side of the building.
“Let’s go, young Bakugou, we need to save Y/N before she ends up hurt.”
