Ok so I had this thought.

Ok so my thoughts and feelings. I’m a rambler so be warned.
The next movie better have Kon in it. They practically set that up. The Ultraman clone?(What are we calling him btw? Is it just that?) Lex did all this talk about how he was dumb and good at taking orders. Once he’s out of Belle Reve (come on it’s Lex) he’s definitely trying again. If he doesn’t already have an experiment 13 in a basement somewhere. Try a different approach.
Lex definitely has a crush on Superman. I mean come on. He’s obsessed!! And he knows it!! He started a war just so he would have an excuse to kill him. He’s so xenophobic and scared by the fact that he likes an alien that he puts all his time, energy and brain power into killing him. Maybe I’m just projecting but I don’t really care. I mean have you seen the social media stuff Gunn and the cast have been putting out?
I absolutely loved his parents. Martha and John are so real to me. I love them.
His bio parents… not so much. The harem thing threw me. Like guys, learn how to give a whole message the same tone wtf. All of Clark’s friends in the know asking him if he actually had a harem. Come on guys. ITS CLARK.
Poor Clark. He’s spent the whole time trying to live up to the massage only to find out the rest of it is the opposite of what he believes.
Guy was an asshole and it was hilarious. Never change Guy, never change. Mr. Terrific stealing the show. Lois felt so Lois. She wasn’t a damsel in distress. The entire movie she was out there doing things.
THE CASUALTIES. There weren’t any! The only time we really saw people die was when Lex was the direct cause. And the only time there was any major destruction to the city it was something directly caused by Lex as well. Clark tried so hard not to let anyone get hurt or anything get destroyed. My first thought when the buildings started falling over was that Superman wouldn’t have let this happen.
Back to his parents. The bit where he said parents aren’t here to tell their children what to be. They’re just here to provide the tools to make fools of themselves and figure it out themselves. I don’t remember it exactly but I think that’s close enough. And also the one where he said it matters more what you thought the rest of that message would say than what it actually did. And that tells what kind of person Clark is. I need Pa Kent to be my father.
Jimmy was delightful. Him helping so so much and having no idea who Clark actually was is amazing to me. That end bit about thinking Lois and Superman have been together for three months AND BEING RIGHT was so funny to me. This is what a Superman movie should be. Funny. Yeah there were a lot of serious moments but overall it was colorful and funny.
Last thing! I cringed every time they said justice gang.
Edit: I COMPLETELY FORGOT TO YAP ABOUT KARA AND KRYPTO
Ok so when Clark said Krypto was a foster situation I had thought he was just downplaying it. I was not expecting Kara. Her being a drunk party girl was also unexpected but funny.
Also Mercy (The engineer, Angela?) was really cool. I wanna know why she had so much beef with Supes. I don’t think it was really discussed? Or did I just miss that?
