After more flight delays this morning, we’ve finally made it to Newfoundland! Two of our main goals for this trip: I want to see icebergs and my dad wants to see the end of the Trans Canada Highway 😁. Since there isn’t a ‘Mile 0’ sign or anything like that here in NFLD, I made one for my dad. Well, I made a Mile 0 and a Mile 4860 but forgot that Mile 1 is also a popular description here - oops! We also verified that Jellybean Row isn’t really a specific row of houses, but rather various areas in St. John’s with lots of colourful houses like the one shown above. All in all, pretty reminiscent of Ireland. What I love most is the little details on some of the houses - cute mailboxes, unique door knockers (err is that what they’re called? Brain fart.), etc. Also - IT’S REALLY COLD!! I don’t recall ever being in a place in May/June where my hands and feet were frozen from walking around in the chill wind/drizzle.
