The orange text arc is pissing me off just as much as I thought it was going to

The things it would take for Dirk to become this kind of person either happened off screen (bad writing) or did not happen at all (worse writing) and it feels so nasty to read any more

AND I'M ONLY PARTWAY THROUGH ONE EPILOGUE.

However I must continue reading it to make the fixed version where it doesn't fucking suck so.

my first webcomic will probably suck major ass ngl.

I mean I don't CARE, I will think it's hot shit anyway because I made it, I'm just warning you guys that you probably won't like it and you're gonna have to put up with it if it gets made.

well gee i just dont fucking know its such a hard decision i couldnt possibly pick a favorite from so many amazing characters its really such a torture that youre making me pick just one

Being a Homestuck fan has done irreparable damage to my creative process.

What if there was a different story about a different boy and his friends and a different game they play together. What if the main character was a total fucking dork. What if there was a really cool blond dude with sunglasses and childhood trauma and identity issues. What if it was in an objectively horrible format for webcomics. What if I, the narrator, was a character in the story and portrayed myself as a self aggrandizing dickwad on purpose for humorous reasons.

going to a convention tomorrow, not saying where because that'll dox me, but just know that if you see Dave Strider at a nearby convention that's your sign

I'm almost finished with Homestuck (just a few hundred pages left) and I'm not looking forward to the postcanon stuff because I have heard awful things about the way Dirk (my second favorite character!) was handled in it.

I already have a sort of continuation brewing in my brain in which Dirk somehow comes across the knowledge that he's fictional and therefore he has no free will because his actions are dictated by an author and just completely crashes the fuck out over it.

Goes completely batshit insane trying to bust himself and his friends out of the shackles of fiction, trying to make any of his decisions be his own, fighting against the whims of a force he couldn't possibly hope to BEGIN to understand, and unknowingly falling into said whims every step of the way.

Maybe the epilogues and Beyond Canon will give me the spark of contempt I need to actually write this continuation once I reach them. Maybe the Meta!Dirk Crashout will be better than the BC villain arc who fucking knows.

I just like the idea of making my favorite characters go through the horrors, and what better horror for a piece of fiction as drenched in metanarrative as Homestuck than to realize you're fictional.

HEY! I have an idea for ur Sonic the hedgehog superhero AU! You could possibly have Cream and Vanilla be Magical girls concept wise and you can have Whisper and Tangle have Sci-fi based powers?!

These are pretty great ideas!

Unfortunately I have no plans to read the IDW comics anytime soon so I'm not gonna know what to do with Whisper and Tangle characterization wise :(

But Cream and Vanilla being magical girls is very cute I'm stealing it
