Tell us about your dnd character!!!!!!!!

Aah, I can’t believe I forgot about this ask! Prepare for a novel, haha. 

Okay, my character’s name is Wallen Keane. He’s a half-elf sorcerer from a quiet but industrious forest town. He’s still pretty young–24 years old, so in human years he’s almost 50. Wallen is 6′0 tall, pale, green-eyed, on the skinnier side, and white-haired (though that’s not his natural color; it used to be brown). According to the D&D wikia, half-elves are “sturdy and visually impressive,” so Wallen’s a pretty eye-catching guy haha. My group has dubbed him the “sad anime boy.”

Why is he sad? Well, two years ago, a wraith creature named Algol destroyed Wallen’s village, killed everybody in it, and made Wallen watch. This monster spared Wallen and he doesn’t know why. The monster said one thing before it disappeared: the name Antares. So that’s why Wallen has become an adventurer–to find Antares, learn more about the monster, and get vengeance. Also, his hair is white because the trauma of helplessly watching all his friends and family get slaughtered rocked him to his roots (literally). As if that wasn’t enough, Wallen is cursed to be haunted by the spirits of those killed. He sees them and can talk with them, but no one else can. 

Now about Wallen’s abilities. Wallen’s lineage is draconic, so he can use fire magic. In his case, though, this manifests as lightning abilities; during our last session, Wallen redirected lightning while our team was traveling through a storm! He has this ability called Heart of Darkness, too: “Those who look into your eyes can see that you have experienced unimaginable horror and that you’re no stranger to darkness. Commoners extend you every courtesy and do their utmost to help you. They will take up arms to fight alongside you, should you find yourself facing an enemy alone.” Hence sad anime boy that everyone wants to hug. 

Wallen has another really cool ability. Our DM gave us each a magical item, and Wallen’s is the Skeleton Key. There is a tattoo of a keyhole on Wallen’s left palm, and when he inserts and turns this Skeleton Key in that tattoo, one of the dead from his village possesses him and gives him proficiency on a skill, language, or tool that he doesn’t have. Suuuuper cool, right?
