Time Against Love : Poetry & Prose

Elsa [Poetry]

"Who are you?"

three first words

that I had spoken

when we first met.

But destiny interfered

and those words

were rewritten to

"I love you"

that you always whispering

to my soul,

every day through every night

without a glimpse of tiredness

within yours.

But... time interfered

and those words

were altered to

"I miss you"

I was so afraid that

this time will come

where joys became sorrows

warmness turns to coldness.

I wished

that as you see

a portrait of mine

in a parallel universe

I hope

you will cherish it

and hear you asks again,

"Who are you?"

"Who are you?" This is the question that I longed to ask every time I dreamt about you. I've been dreaming about you: a regal and poised lady who wears this soft innocent smile who makes my heart gone wild undescribable. My dreams about you were so vivid like it was just happened yesterday. But, at first, I thought you were just made by my imagination, but, it didn't as my grandfather took me in this place where I saw your portrait for the first time that left me speechless, stunned, and feel this burst of emotions through me. I can't clarify it to myself.

It feels that I really have a connection with you, however, I can't prove if this is true or not.

As time goes by, I still never forget to visit your beautiful portrait even after my grandfather passed away, and I also gotten myself an interest on reading your history. "Who are you?" An old man always asked me whenever I visited here. I don't really know what he's up to, yet, he always disagree when I said my name.

"Who are you?" He asked again...

Yet, coincidentally, as I turned on the page of the book that I am currently reading about her history... I saw a portrait of a man who I resembles. Confused, lost, froze, and surprised because it feels like I was just looking on my own photo. But how? why?

"Who are you?" He asked again as he saw me froze.

"Is this me?" I turned the book to his pointed out the photo.

He smiled and glanced at the portrait saying,

"To my great, great, great, great--- grandmother. I finally found the man you have loved until death. I wished your fate collides with him... Again."

J: The time suddenly stopped

E: It feels like I've been trapped into a time loop

J: Wait, what's happening?

E: What is this place?

J: How can this be?

E: How is this possible?
