The Deep Web, Jen Meyer

This piece was inspired by a friend who told me about the deep web. Until then I never knew such a thing existed. Black and white. There's the regular internet and then there's the deep web. It's interesting and intriguing that this other world exists, but don't go there folks. It's dangerous.

The Great Escape, Jen Meyer

This painting started out being about the interconnectedness of things. Then as the layers went on in oil it changed. The bunnies appeared. After I painted it I realized it reminds about a book I read years ago titled 'Joonie and the Great Harbinger Stampede' by Daniel Landes about bunnies, who for a bit, don't get eaten by the wolves (in short). This painting is from one of the first series of paintings I made in my LA studio last summer. It was SO hot and I was missing the San Francisco cool weather at the time. All I could do was dream about it snowing in LA (and get an a/c unit for my studio-yay).
