My friend has gone through the help system and it didn't work and he is off meds and is now not getting any help and he won't He is not okay what do I do?-Jenna C
In your friend’s time of need, it’s important to be there for him as emotional support. I can see you care about him very much and are willing to help, and that’s great!
Have you talked to him about why going through the system didn’t help him? You should encourage him to open up to you and talk to him about your concerns for his well-being. Remember to stay respectful and don’t try to force him to get help, doing this may upset him. Bring up your concerns in a friendly manner and let him know that you’re worried about him and you want to help him get the care he needs. If he’s unsure or resistant about getting help, simply offer your own comfort. Perhaps tell him that you’re willing to accompany him to any visits he needs to make, for moral support.
Talk to him about why he currently doesn’t want to get help; he may be going through a tough situation currently and is unsure how to deal with it. Often times, mental illness can make people feel very helpless and hopeless, no matter what care they seek. This can lead to them quitting any kind of medical care they need because they begin to think there isn’t a point. Try to persuade his way of thinking to something more positive by reminding him of the good things medical professionals can do for him. Urge him to try again to better himself and also let him know you’ll be there with him every step of they way.
I hope that things turn out better!
