Twilight from Charlie's pov is really, really horrifying and I don't think the fandom talks about it enough

To be fair, that's a lot of parents in YA. Single mother Joyce Summers has to leave everything and start anew because her daughter burned down a school building, and Buffy not only refuses to talk about it, but starts up again with the exact same bullshit in the new place. Jenna Sommers just wants to care for her sister's kids until they're off to college, strange women who look like her niece force her to stab herself and she gets murdered as a ritual sacrifice.

Marisa Coulter just wants to reconnect with the daughter she gave up, has to save her from a soulcutting machine, kidnap and drug her, and kill God to get anywhere.
