I read the entirety of Smoke from this Altar in under 48 hours and ugh I adore your writing. Please do let me know if you publish a novel because I would definitely buy and devour it as thoroughly as I did that fic. Also holy howling hounds the extensive plotting and allusions are just incredible. You did so well at not only the romance and the turn of phrase but the moral ambiguities and the trust and distrust and mistrust and the twists and turns of reliable narration and just... yes. @hotbroccoli I DID THE THING! Holy crap xD I mean, I got used to doing the thing when finishing another fanfic, but this one was almost twice as long and just feels like a whole nother THING(tm) in its own right. Thank you! <3

@casualwombatfan *sob* thank you. I am. Proud, I mean. I’m very proud. I’m usually not one to crow on and on about accomplishments because I finish a thing and already start looking onto the next one... but this one was my first baby, the introduction of my soul to the beautiful hell that is writing a long, intricate fanfic, and this one’s borderline epic in size (to me, anyway), and so finishing it feels like I finally reached some sort of milestone. can’t tell you what the milestone was, but I feel like I reached it, hah!

First let me just say that you are an amazing writer! I absolutely adore ADOT. Is it possible to find the podfic anywhere? The original link shows an empty playlist, and my workday would progress so much more quickly if I could have this playing through my earbuds. Thank you again for sharing this with us!

If ever you choose to share your work again please do let me know, it gave me incredible joy to read, but I know as an author (although I’m not much of one lol) it’s the sharing there that’s important. It’s *your* work, your effort, yours to share or not share. Anyway I loved reading when you wanted to share and am very much here for anything else you want to share in the future!! First: thank you for having the courage to send your message OFF anon, I really appreciate it and genuinely respect you all the more for it. No joke, I sincerely mean that. That's not me being snarky, or trying to give you some backhanded compliment. I really mean it, because 99.99999999% of people on tumblr are abysmally unprincipled cowards who are incapable of being accountable for the things they ask or say. So, much respect to you for sending your message as an identified user.

Second: I am not the author of Neighborly. The author used to be known as "auntie thelma".

Third: You seem to really adore this au (as I did). Just wondering: did you ever leave the author reviews/comments expressing your love and appreciation for her work when this story was still publicly available?

Fourth: "But yeah, let me know if you want me to take down that podfic and I’ll get that done for you."

I don't know what auntie thelma's feelings were on how her transformative work products were shared/used, so maybe the following doesn't matter - but methinks it might have made more sense to ask the author whether she was comfortable with you recording a pod fic of her story and publicly posting it before doing it... instead of offering to take it down after the fact. Just a little food for thought.
