#EdwardRoweSnow a top the #JennyLindTower in Truro, sometime in the 1930’s/40’s. It has to be old because he still had some type of staircase to climb inside. We had hoped to get back to the tower for our #CapeCodRoadtrip2020 but the access to the Highland Center is closed due to Covid. Hit the hashtag for #JennyLind and we should have an older story up from a past visit . The Cliff Notes are: the Tower used to be in Boston, and PT Barnum had oversold a concert, and Jenny Lind saved the day by climbing the tower and performing to the crowd outside. It lives abandoned in the woods in Truro these days but it’s not usually to hard to get to. . . Got up early to get a sunrise picture at Highland (Cape Cod) Light, but that’s all under scaffolding for construction..... but what can you do? We’ve had a great weekend on the Cape despite the restrictions: lobster rolls, ice cream for lunch, three other lighthouses and an excellent day at the Wellfleet Audubon this afternoon. There’s less people than a normal summer but all the hotels seemed booked- so people everyone is adapting. Stay safe out there, and wear a mask til things get better! #CovidTravel #CapeCodTravel #Travel2020 (at Jenny Lind Tower) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDHpejUl7RZ/?igshid=1qy1ffiiv4l1h
