I only just noticed how many shared looks and side-eyes Kent and Gerald have with each other in RWH after a lot of playthroughs of the demo. It's so well done, I'm so excited for this game! ALSO. Will you have a recommended route of which characters to go through in what order?

Kent and Gerald have known each other the longest on the team haha! Kent’s learned after being partners with Gerald for a good number of years, it’s hard not to give Gerald a hard side-eye at times. Especially since Kent can usually figure out exactly what Gerald is thinking at this point.

BUT there will most likely be a recommended route order (I can’t say exactly right now since writing can change between outlines to final drafts). Although, it shouldn’t be too jarring if the player chooses to not follow it.

My main recommendation that I could safely say even now though, would be to play Wolfe’s route last.

Hi! Curious as to what the RWH team say to themselves when they look at themselves in the mirror while getting ready in the morning. :)

Hello! Thanks for the interesting question! Hope you don’t mind, but it turned a little more into what they usually think when they’re getting ready and in front of a mirror haha;;

Gerald, rubbing a hand over his morning stubble and seeing how tired he looks: “*sigh* I really need to stop staying so late in the office… Or I should just stop looking in the mirror.”

Kent, zoning out while brushing his teeth: “Do I need to buy more food for Sesame…?”

Cyril, finishing getting ready and straightening his tie: “Perfect… Everything must be in order.”

Emmett, flexing, not even dressed: “Aww yeah, who’s looking good this morning?”

Beau, nodding to himself after waking up and washing his face: “Okay, time to start the day. Don’t mess up!”

Wolfe, muttering under his breath, forgetting to even look at his reflection as he gets ready: “For tonight’s dinner I will need some tomatoes for the sauce, and I need to check if we still have garlic, and…”

Janet, looking over her array of makeup and disguises: “I wonder if I should change it up today? It might be interesting to show up as someone else… No, better not.”

Full answer:   It depends on the kind of pressure actually! (This answer is a bit long sorry;;)

Specifically this chart depicts if the guy is on a mission (or a combat situation in the Wolf’s case since he’s not an agent and wouldn’t be on a mission) and for example, suddenly finds himself surrounded. Beau is the youngest and most inexperienced so he would be the one to most likely show an initial reaction before he can collect himself. Emmett wouldn’t freak out per se, but he’d immediately go on the offensive. Like, he’s not exactly losing his cool, but he's not exactly staying cool either, letting his emotions drive him out of the situation. Cyril would stay calm, specifically in a combat situation :^) It’s mainly in a “whelp what can I do” kind of way though since he knows he can’t win in combat situations and he doesn’t see the point in starting a fight he can’t win. If Gerald is alone, he and the Wolf are evenly matched when it comes to staying calm under pressure in a combat situation. But unlike Cyril, they would still attempt to take control of the situation while keeping their wits about them. When it comes to his team though, Gerald has a tendency to be rather protective of them and might act rashly. (He also tends to drop his guard when he’s around his team, hence his reaction in the Halloween comic pt II) Kent excels in combat situations and is the hardest to break under pressure. Kent’s code name is “Diamond” for a reason haha (it takes special situations to catch him off guard) Sorry anon if you wanted to know if they stayed cool under a different situation! That would be a different question...

(In case it’s hard to read, the chart ranges from “Easily caught off guard” to “Tougher to shake”)

So in RWH will the traitor always be the same, or will you change them depending on the chosen route? :) Really looking forward to the game. Btw how much of the game do you plan on completing before publicly releasing the demo?

The traitor will always be the same, no matter the route.

I plan to at least finish writing the common route before going back and reworking the art for the demo. I want all the sprites, backgrounds, and GUI to be pretty complete for the demo! However writing-wise, the demo will probably only be the prologue + parts of the common route (I’ll see what’s a good length when everything is written out)
