Excuse the shoddy drawing and erase marks, I usually draw with words.
This is my Beachsona! Thank you to the fantastic @jen-iii for coming up with this idea.
Now for the good stuff…
Name: Valentina Beverly Culpo
Age: 18
Why No Arms: (I literally tried so hard, but I SUCK at drawing and got really mad at her arms so I just erased them. Plus I can only draw this pose and facial expression soooo if you want to draw Val please feel free to. I will love you eternally.)
Occupation: College Student majoring in Music, or History, or Linguistics, or Veterinary Medicine, or…she really can’t make up her mind.
Actual Occupation: Volunteer Choir Teacher at local Elementary School, Freelance Photographer
Hobbies: Snapping off guard pictures of everyone in town, singing, eating a lot of bread…I mean A LOT of it, people watching at the beach, petting every dog she sees.

Valentina, or Val, or Tina, or…Well she doesn’t really care what you call her as long as it isn’t her middle name. She absolutely despises it and insists it’s a name for Nonnas (Grandmothers). After moving around her whole life, she finally found Beach City as her home when she started college nearby.
Val always has a backpack with her, and it changes color almost every day. In her backpack she keeps; at least 7 water bottles, salty snacks, a blood pressure cuff, pouches of saline solution that enter her bloodstream through a chest port, instant ice packs, ace bandages, and her emergency beta blockers. Around the age of 16 she was diagnosed with POTS, Ehler’s-Danlos Type 3, and Chronic Fatigue so her backpack is her life line. On her wrist (screw drawing arms) is a Medic Alert Bracelet with a heart shaped charm.
She also usually has a camera in her bag which she uses to snap off guard candid photos of people in town. In her room is a wall dedicated to these goofy candids. Val’s not the kind of girl to approach you and strike up a conversation, but if you approach her…get ready for mile a minute talking. She’ll often get over excited and jump from topic to topic before remembering her initial subject and returning to that. Unfortunately, Val has Resting Bitch Face, so people rarely do approach.
She’s very independent and HATES having to ask for help when her medical conditions flare up, so she might struggle silently for a while before someone offers help. Stubborn little thing. And little she is! At only 5'4" Val won’t be dunking on anyone in the near future. Her hair is self cut, as evident by the choppy style, and self dyed. The color of the dye changes pretty frequently, depending on how patient she is feeling that day.
Her typical haunts include Jen’s Gay Ass Bakery (where she’s become a designated experiment recipe taster), the Beach, the local elementary school, and the town clinic.
(So yeah. If you have any desire to draw Valentina, no need to ask. I really wish I was better at drawing but I’m not, I can just describe the shit out of her with words. Anyways, just tag me if you do draw her and I will shower you with tears of happiness.)
I created a Jensona for @jen-iii and her awesome Supers show idea. While college is separating me from my sketchbook, I have all her information ready to go. A somewhat decent drawing will hopefully be coming soon! Since I’m a writer with little filter, this might be long so I’ll put the details under the cut.
Iris Rivera
· Power to Manipulate Plant Life
· Salvadoran
· Sexuality: Lesbian
· Birthday: March 20, 1996, Age 19
Abilities: Iris has the power to grow and heal any plant (flowers, trees, crops, etc.) with her touch. She can also take life away from it essentially killing the plant. Her powers are the necessities to make any seed grow/bloom and she is able to determine the physical characteristics (for example, color and size). If Iris takes life from the plant, she can absorb its energy (with a guilty conscience).
Limitations: Iris can only control what she grows. While she can use her power to heal or kill anything in nature, she cannot manipulate them as a defense/possible weapon or change its characteristics. Her parents’ joke about her being part flower as a child ended up being true because she is sensitive during weather patterns. Iris can get tired and weak in the winter and summer when the temperatures are at its extreme. She gets sick in the winter and heat flashes in the summer if she’s not careful (Always in her planner, MUST STAY HYDRATED). On the other hand, Iris thrives in the spring with more energy than she knows what to do with.
Backstory: Iris lived with her mother and father. Her older sister mysteriously left one day to travel the world. From time to time, they received letters from her as updates of her adventure. Ever since she was young, Iris has been an aspiring horticulturist. When she enrolled in her local college to get her degree, her Super Gene unlocked on the first day of class. Iris nearly destroyed one of the greenhouses when her powers made the roots of her assignment enlarge and spread. In a panic, her parents hid her until they could find a small home for her in the country. There she experimented with her powers in private (for science reasons more than Super reasons). Once she had a stable control over abilities, Iris visited her parents in the city but remained in her rural home. She hopes she can overcome her fear to live a somewhat normalish life again.
Well, this is what I have for Iris and I hope you like her!
So the wonderful Supers idea that @jen-iii came up with made me really want to make an OC for it! So meet Mireille - brace yourselves, this is gonna be a long one...
Name: Mireille Chevalier, nicknamed Mira for those who can’t pronounce her full name. She likes the “super” name Mirror, though.
Orientation: Pansexual panromantic, but with a marked preference for women and non-binary peeps.
Appearance: Long auburn hair that’s usually sensibly plaited down her back and grey eyes. Her skin is pale and covered in freckles, and her body type is barely athletic. She looks more suited for a desk job than the streets. When she is working with her power, her fingers and eyes glow a bright white and her skin becomes unnaturally warm and smooth to the touch, like freshly blown glass.
Background: At 22, Mireille was almost finished with her undergraduate studies when her power manifested. Her well-off parents had been able to pay for her education in a respected American university in order to fulfill her potential as a gifted biologist. However, this dream was abruptly cut off when her power decided to reveal itself in the middle of a laboratory demonstration (ask her about it, she’s happy to talk about herself all day). Very long story short, Mireille was forced to flee the university and go into hiding.
Power: Mireille has the ability to bend light, which has a fair amount of applications. She can adjust the direction of light so that it shines in an enemy’s eyes, or shift its patterns erratically to confuse their vision. In theory, she could focus light enough to burn people, but in practice, that ability requires a tremendous amount of concentration and so is never really used. Mainly, Mireille bends the light around her so that she cannot be seen (look up “real-life invisibility cloak” - it scientifically can be done) or bends light around empty space so that it looks like something is actually there (ie, illusions). So far, these tactics have allowed Mireille to avoid any more unwanted attention in the streets.
Weaknesses: Of course, the ability to bend light is not without limitations. Mireille’s illusions require a lot of concentration and dissipate when touched. They can’t make noise or affect anything around them. Also, she is of course all but useless in darkness which is why she stays in the city, where there is generally at least some light. Her powers are limited by how much light there is (ex: she could make a better illusion in bright sunlight than in the shade).
There’s also the simple fact that none of these powers really cause any physical damage - they rely mostly on surprise and people not knowing she’s a super. If some strong person were to become determined to catch Mireille and if they had some idea of her powers, our Mireille would have a very low chance of getting away. She’s not particularly strong, and is on the plumper side due to her previously cushy lifestyle. Loud distractions will also impair Mireille’s powers, since manipulating light requires concentration. Really, just get past her illusions and whack her upside the head: she’ll go down like a sack of bricks.
Personality:
Mireille runs from very calm to very angry quite quickly. One moment she’ll be talking about how she’s working on meditations to improve her peaceful concentration, the next she’s shouting, asking you why you’re being so nosy (just try to call her a ray of sunshine, that pun would drive her up the wall). She’s got a bit of a bitter streak about her power, since she feels that it took away her future in science, and despite her soft demeanor, her words can sometimes be very harsh.
However, she still wears her emotions on her sleeves, and laughs, cries, and blushes easily. If anything, she’s got a bit of a flair for the dramatic (hence her super name) and tries to treat her running away as a grand adventure in order to cope. She’s got a bit of a flirty side as well, though often her attempted advances spiral into science-y jargon as she tries to impress the object of her affections.
Mireille is terrified of getting caught, specifically by scientists, because she knows first-hand how they conduct tests on interesting lifeforms. She would do anything other than become a lab rat to her former classmates. Mireille sometimes wishes she had access to a lab so that she could conduct experiments on her how super genes and perhaps hide them from government scanners. Occasionally, the thought that she might be able to find a way to suppress the gene entirely crosses her mind, but she always quickly pushes it aside.
Interactions: Mireille has been naturally mistrustful of other people, since the slightest misstep could get her caught. However, if she were to become part of a group, she would get along fairly fine with others. Aside from a barb that goes slightly too far or a string of theoretical biology, things would go rather well. Mireille would be initially slightly amazed by any super with a more destructive power than hers, since they could finally make her feel more safe. However, she’d soon get her smart mouth back. (”Hey, just because you can shoot fireballs from your mouth or wherever else I won’t mention doesn’t mean I can’t make your eyes slightly blinded whenever I want. Consider that, will you?)
Fun Words (the idea shamelessly taken from @isayinyang and their fantastic jensona sheet):
“Please don’t look at me like that. You know, if I had a lab, I could do untold wonders, but here? Now? I’m fairly useless!”
“Do you know how much humans fear darkness? But here I am, stuck making scary illusions in broad daylight - don’t blame me for having to get creative with those images to get the cops running.”
*when someone actually responds to her flirting*
“Wait, what? I... you’re gonna have to explain your angle here, because I’m not seeing it. Uh, I,...ahem. You know, I just am going to be over here. Reevaluating. See ya.”
“Hey - Oy - Listen. We should totally get someone who can control smoke on our team. Because - get it - then we could be a duo: Smoke and Mirrors! *laughing* *pausing* It’s an expression I heard and mostly it just sounds mysterious. So, uh, just something to keep in mind, all right? Thanks.”
*while chasing a flying super*
“So... Team... Do you want me to shine sun in their eyes? Because I can totally do that. If you were wondering. You know what, I’m just going to take the initiative and do it. If someone could cover me, that would be absolutely fantastic!”
*talking to another, more “showy” super*
“You know, I’d really hate to see you get caught by the authorities. But if you keep these... demonstrations up, I’d be delighted to just leave you and watch your sorry carcass get picked up and flown off in a chopper!”
Soo I finally got my Super for @jen-iii amazing show idea. So here it goes~
Name- Marisol Navarro/Apollo (Formerly known as Marisol Castillo)
Age- 15
Birthday- June 21
Sexuality- Heteroromantic Asexual
Power- Solar Energy Manipulation
Personality- Paranoid, intelligent, intuitive, sensitive, easily angered, closed off(in the beginning), protective, guilty, tech savvy, codependent, and energetic
Strengths- Can absorb solar energy and use it in blasts and breaths( kinda like Sasuke’s Fire Style Fire Ball Jutsu), she can strengthen in direct sunlight, she is thermal resistant, and she has a healing factor(absorption regeneration)
Weaknesses- All of her attacks and techniques require solar energy, people with darkness manipulation can render her useless. She can’t be in a dark area. She’s significantly weaker on a partially sunny day. If she’s too reckless when absorbing energy, she can contract a skin disease. She isn’t immune to her own attacks. Each blast of energy eats away at her own energy , therfore she can’t overuse her powers or she’ll be in a comatose state. If she overcharges/overloads on energy, she will go into a comatose state or die. To channel her energy into an attack, she must have absolute concentration.
Background- Before her gene unlocked she was known as Marisol Castillo, daughter of Luz and Hector Castillo. Luz was a respected doctor who helped out at a clinic for Supers on the down low. Hector was a defense attorney who also fought for Supers. Both were advocate against violence towards Supers and raised Marisol that way. Her mother was calm and nuturing, but fierce and brutal when she needed to be. Her father was a man of his word and had a heart of gold, often offering free legal aid for folks who couldn’t afford it. Marisol shut down once they died, not wanted by anyone and too ashamed to ask for help. Marisol dreamed of becoming a pastry chef and going to school in France to learn from the best. Marisol also had a potential partner, but once her gene unlocked, she was too full of guilt, sadness, and shame to face him.
How she discovered her gene- It was her father’s birthday and Marisol had prepared him a delicious cake . She went to go get it and felt off. She brushed it off and presented the cake. Right when they were singing happy birthday, she collapsed on the floor. Her father ran to her side. She had a horrible burning sensation when she unlocked her power. Unfortunately, her father was close and was blasted with energy from her transformation. Once Marisol opened her eyes she saw broken glass from the windows everywhere and her mom checking her father’s pulse. Marisol, in her shock and horror, backed away, knocking over lit candles. Marisol’s skin changed from a light shade of caramel to a glowing yellow, orange, and pink. Her hair grew long and she felt warm. Her mother looked up and shook her head to signify that Hector was dead. Marisol reached to help her mother up and get her out of the burning house, but she blasted a panel on the roof, causing it to fall on her mom. Marisol ran out and saw her neighbors looking at her, disgust and hatred on their faces. Marisol ran to her best friend/romantic interest’s house and untransformed. She used his computer and hacked into the database and completely erased Marisol Castillo and created Marisol Navarro. Before she left, her friend gave her his letterman jacket to keep her warm. After she left, she left that city for good, adopting the persona of Apollo.
