18. What is your go to adjusment / PSD for colouring?

mmh so i don’t have like a psd that i use all the time, but more like an order that i like to follow and the number of layers will vary from one gif / gifset to another. so i usually do something like:

curves / levels (to balance out the light a bit more evenly and make the blacks darker without darkening them in the selective color)

less contrast (to give more “depth” / relief to the skin)

saturation (i usually add a bit of saturation because i think it makes it easier with the selective color)

selective color (to correct whatever color bothers me. sometimes i use color balance, channel mix or hue/saturation, once again depending on the gif)

levels (to correct whatever change that occured before) 

exposure (useful especially since i like gifs with a lot of frames)

gradient map and/or black and white (so this will depend on the hue/sat that i used before if i went overboard or not LMAO or sometimes i use it to give it a different effect on the gif, it can be something pinkish or blueish depending on the original color that is already in the scene to begin with... like for instance sometimes something is very yellow, but the yellow was necessary at whatever point i was in process so i use these final layers to balance out the yellow from before without actually making whoever is in the gif too white)

light/contrast (here it’s to balance out the exposure that i used before, because i tend to make it darker than necessary)

24. What is something that you’re wanting to learn right now?

mmh i don’t even know myself how to explain what i want to learn LMAO but these days i’m changing a bit my settings and adjustment because i want to make gifs that look more... idk, glossy? shiny?... i don’t necessarily want to make a gif without any grain because that’s a pointless fight LMAO (and it also depends on the vid anyways), but something that is more shiny! also i want to dive more into making gfx and improving my mastery (is that the right word-) of photoshop and i think gfx are a good way to do so!

this is so random but i hate late evening classes so much too ;__; (maybe even more than early morning classes... there's just something so tiring in trying to concentrate on a lecture in the evening sdfgjk) but i'm glad you survived and got home safely 😘
