So the Bloodweave bug is real, and it doesn't care what you normally write. It will demand that you ignore that and write something entirely outside your comfort zone.
So this is the opening bit of Hurry Up and Wait my BG3-Movie AU, where all your favorite characters are working on a trilogy of films loosely following the plot of Baldur's Gate 3. Yes, this was heavily inspired by production stories of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Yes, this is just an excuse to talk about my special interests. No, this is not going to be wholly accurate.
I don't have a posting schedule yet, mostly because I'm still ironing out the plot outside of "making BG3 movie" and "Gale and Astarion main pairing," but I just finished this blurb, and I'm going to explode if I don't share it.
Here is the Summary for Ao3:
Nearly 25 years after the release of the first Baldur’s Gate film, production is gearing up to launch the franchise into the modern age. Gale Dekarios has landed the role of The Wizard and is feeling decidedly less like Gandalf and more like there is another shoe very imminently about to drop. Having risen to fame in his late teens and early twenties as a heartthrob in the romance scene, he’s returning to the silver screen after a year-long hiatus and a very sudden change in management. His status as an industry darling be damned, though. Why does it feel like there is a noose around his neck? Astarion Ancunin, however, is on top of the world. Or should be. Where most actors choke after their first big break, Astarion has soared. He’s just the sort of hot-ticket item everyone wants attached to their projects and seems to be carving quite a comfortable space for himself as the lovable rogue. It’s eating him alive. So when he got a call from the people who launched his career in the first place, offering a three-movie deal and a filming schedule that would finally allow him to enjoy that nice little apartment he purchased last year, he pounced on it. A Vampire is new. Maybe this is exactly what he needs.

NEW BALDUR'S GATE TRILOGY ENTERS PRODUCTION
by Salene Freig
After exploding onto the scene with their seminal horror flick The House on Dusthawk Hill, Emerald Grove Productions has been on an unstoppable roll that defies industry expectations. From seamlessly moving between genres with their enemies-to-lovers rom-com Metacognition, to keeping us on the edge of our seats with their heart-stopping action film Driven, to sweeping the low-level awards scene with their most recent endeavor, their ingenious horror rom-com fusion, I Heard People are Dying to Get In Here, fans of the directing group have been practically rioting in anticipation of the team's next big project. Lucky for them, they don't have long to wait.
Emerald Grove Productions will be heading a new trilogy of Baldur’s Gate films to follow the much-loved Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn. This is their biggest project to date and, in a rare move, all three films will be shot consecutively (a cost-cutting measure that has worked for other fantasy trilogies in the past.) Ulder Ravengard, CEO of Four Dukes Entertainment, describes it as “a gamble,” but he “[believes] in the team at Emerald Grove Productions… When they put their minds to something, they get it done.”
Alfira Baird, who typically sits in the Director’s Chair on any given Emerald Grove project, clarifies that “[Emerald Grove Productions has] the unenviable task of bringing the world of Baldur's Gate into the modern age while staying true to the stories that came before that are so beloved by fans… We hope to accomplish that by blending the style of the original movies with something totally our own.”
When asked if Emerald Grove Productions was ready to take on a project of this scale, Zevlor Wooldridge, the oldest member and de facto producer of Emerald Grove, commented, “Oh yes. We have created a really solid team over the years. Alfira shows a real aptitude for directing. She knows exactly what she wants out of a scene and how to get the actors there. Rolan [Torralba] is a wizard with scripts. He had pages flying out of his fingers from the get-go. And Dammon [Demiral] was right beside him, hammering out the details on how we wanted to shoot it. I mean, they practically wallpapered our office floor-to-ceiling in storyboards. And that's not even mentioning the scores of other creatives that have made our success possible or the new ones joining us on this project.” And when asked if someone was missing from that lineup, he laughed and said, “Who? Me? I'm just the guy you go to when you need things done.”
With enthusiasm like that, and rumors of returning cast and crew, it is no wonder that the hype only continues to grow around the new trilogy. There is still no official release date, but sources say the first film (currently under the working title Baldur's Gate III: Act I) is aiming to release sometime in the spring of next year.

All of the movie titles mentioned and hyperlinked in The Gazette article are real fanfictions on AO3!
The House of Dusthawk Hill is a shortened version of The Curious History of the House on Dusthawk Hill by @pallasitedaydreams (it’s an Astarion/Tav modern AU where Astarion is a ghost).
Metacognition is by Bloodweaver (it’s a Bloodweave Modern AU where Astarion and Gale teach at the same school).
Driven is by @nivasichakano (Bloodweave Formula One AU where Astarion and Gale are teammates on an F1 team).
And i heard people are dying to get in here is by a mutual of mine I am very fond of, @heylittleriotact. This fic is actually a Dragon Age: Veilguard Emmrich/Rook fic, but V has an excellent Astarion/Tav fic called Open Invitation that I highly recommend. The idea of a horror rom-com called I Heard People are Dying to Get In Here was too good to pass up.
I want to thank all of these authors for their incredible work! These stories have been comforts and bright spots in my life, as I hope they can be for the rest of you!
I'm going to go throw up now because I hate putting my work out for people to see
bye
