jericho’s spring ball has been a tradition for the town ever since its first spring, in 1857. it’s usually set outside, at a clearing just outside of town aptly named ‘blossom square’, but this year, with early april still being just as cold as the months before, the mayor has decided to have this year’s ball indoors, at the ballroom of the ancient city hall.
spring is a specially beautiful time in jericho; with the town being so intertwined with nature, pretty colorful flowers bloom everywhere, from the stone walls of apartment buildings to tiny little cracks on the cobble streets, flowers and bright green grass start peaking through, somehow making jericho look even more idyllic than usual. the ball is a celebration of that, a celebration of beauty and love and all of the fruits that come with the season.
this weekend, the ballroom will be decorated beautifully with fresh flowers, bright lights and all the delicious food and drinks you can find in town, giving the citizens a warm, welcoming feel so harshly opposite to the bitter cold raging outside; people are welcome to invite a loved one or go stag, and enjoy a good night of dancing in the heart of jericho.
