This is probably my favourite drawing of the year and honestly? I'm glad, Jerrik looks so nice like this and I just wanna draw him laying in grass with his shirt open more often.
Huzzah! I am done! Jerrik in my friend's OCs' Outfits!
I think I need a break from drawing for a bit, due to sitting here and basically hyper focusing on drawing Jerrik over and over and over again. But I honestly might do this again, since I barely find any outfits for Jerrik and throwing him in my friend's OC Outfits was wwaaaaaayyyy too much fun.
Honestly, Jerrik is a demi-God who forgets the demi part of the name. While yes he does have a Domain — most demi-God(ess)s' have a Title and Domain that's usually smaller part of a actual God(ess)s' Domain — and is stubborn enough to believe that having one makes me stronger, Jerrik doesn't realize or seem to remember that yes, he can die if killed properly and with tact. That yes, if he doesn't take care of himself or his Domain properly, he can and will die.
Jerrik likes thinking he's able to do everything (and more) that Loki can do. Because he's the son of Loki, he believes he's capable of more than he really is. This can often lead to him getting into more trouble than he wanted or expected, and often leads hin being tricked into learning his morality. And whenever he's force into possibly accepting his morality, he goes into panic mode. He'll hyperventilate, shake, actually get scared of dying.
Usually whenever he gets to that point, he has someone (either Varya or Nao) calm him down. Without help, he usually ends up with newer scars to add to his collection and he ends up witu unresolved trauma.
The time where he got a majority of his scars, with Emilia, was the most panic inducing, fear striking, absolute impactful and traumatizing experience that he can't be alone with Emilia after it happens.
Emilia in of itself becomes a trigger for him, and he's unable to fully process it due to how to ultimately changed his and Emilia's relationship. Jerrik spends Eras afterwards getting over and processing it, which lead to his abusive relationship with Ansgar and that whole ordeal to happen. Jerrik is traumatized.
And yet!
He'll repeatedly forget that he's still half human because he thinks the God in him will keep him alive. That if he was only aware of that aspect of him, he wouldn't have had the experiences or trauma he has and gets throughout his life.
I dunno. I'm just thinking about Jerrik.
OC rambling on bluesky.
Kiriko is honestly a woman who loved her brother so much that she changed her life's density and found her own path and Domain before he did.
She loved him so much, that she ended up warping and twisting their relationship to such a abusive level that neither of them can come out of it unharmed. Kiriko, all in all, wanted Jerrik's attention and affection growing up that she turned that desire and want of an older sibling's approval into twisting and manlipuating said sibling to see just how far he'll take to break. She has a feeling she knows how far she can go until he shatters, but she always titters that line.
Without Jerrik's constant responses and reactions to her, Kiriko would end up with nothing but her own thoughts and feelings about him abandoning her and the effects it had on her that she'll snap. Break down and finally process all of the emotions that come wrapped up in thinking and throughly believing that someone abandoned you for most if not all of your life and only came back once in a blue moon actually meant something to her. That she had expectations that Jerrik didn't meet, that Jerrik failed her on levels that he couldn't understand or fathom due to his own ignorance. That she'll need to either grow pass this or wallow in her self imposed suffering.
Honestly, if she didn't felt this way - if she wasn't left behind by him, in her eyes - Kiriko would've probably ended up as a much kinder girl. Softer, still as cunning and manlipuative, but more like her paternal grandmother. She holds a lot of similarities to her paternal grandmother - namesake included - that if she wasn't acting like how she was, she could've been mistaken for her reincarnation.
But due to her love for her brother, she changed who she was a person - and yes, even who she was supposed to be a Goddess over.
I've often told people or implied that Varya has been Jerrik's longest friend, but that's honestly a lie I like spreading about my own characters.
Jerrik's longest friend has been Noa.
"Cotton, why does Jerrik get three OTPs?" No one asks yet I am answering.
Because he's my special Boi Who Needs Happiness!!
And two are RP OTPs and one is story OTP. I'm allowed to ship Jerrik around, he deserves it.
Wait do I add my Stardew Valley ship of Harvey/Jerrik??? Into this???
