Dreams

I had been dreaming since I inspired by Jimmy Chin and Corey Rich. They inspired me to do the impossible in Indonesia. To become an Adventure Photographer and Filmmaker. It seems impossible in Indonesia. But, I believed that something impossible because it hadn’t be done. 

I am on the journey to take my skill to another level. I had always drawn to a landscape and light. Jimmy chin’s photo always show a stunning landscape that no one ever sees. Corey Rich’s photo always have a beautiful light. I try to combine those two style. landscape and lighting. 

I try to include those two style to my photo and my film. I had this profound message that I wanted to share. Everyone that sees my photo and film should wanted to left everything behind and go. I wanted to make everyone eaters to explore some places that he/she already had in their mind for a long time. 

Still a long journey to me!

Light

I had always drawn to light. Light makes something more beautiful (or is it their real beauty?). I really wanted to do something that involves light in my works. 

Afterglow, a short movie that made by Sweet Grass Production, is one example that I wanted to do. This movie made me believes that everything could be done. The limits are just my imagination. This film push the boundary of ski film. Landscapes that lighten by artificial lights and the light suit segment! It is pure genius. I really liked it. They push the boundary of the uses of light and make that incredible short film.

My next project in photography will involves light. I want to make a portrait that tells the different between ones dream and ones current state. Light symbolizes the hope. I hope this project will encourage people to chase their dreams and make their current state, their dream.

This word came to me after I read "Show your Work" by Austin Kleon. It means there is no genius, only people that is connected very well, will able delivered some idea that is very strong. Social media made scenius more approachable. I now know, it is real.

The Dawn Wall, a face on El Capitan wall that receives sunlight the first in the morning, it is considered the hardest route to climb. Today, in the morning, I woke up and saw in Instagram, many people told the story about the success of Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson to free climb The Dawn Wall. Everyone is rejoiced and congratulated them. The 7 years project now is finished. Tommy is one of renowned climber and he seized the impossible. Alex Honnold the rising star in rock climbing world even said that the hardest pitch on The Dawn Wall is harder than the pitches he ever climbed to The New York Times.

I just felt the influenced that gotten me. One of my inspiration, Corey Rich, is documenting them. I followed their adventure from his Instagram. He made a beautiful pictures that I liked. Social Media made Scenius could connect with other people effortlessly. They just finished their big dream, it is time for me to chased my big dream.

Stoked to sees many Indonesian movie emerging in recent years. I am an Indonesian and I am proud to see many kinds of film was being made. This is the examples of it. 40 Days in Europe is a movie based on a true stories. A group of Angklung's player wants to play it on Europe but didn't have any money. A new kind of genre of featured film. The movie is mission impossible too. Just like the story. They didn't have any money and they use crowd funding via indiegogo.com. Follow this link and find out.
