It's finally happened! One of my hens is broody. ❤️ Cheddar, my Jersey Giant, has decided it's time to settle down and raise a family. She's in the 'collecting' stage, right now, so she will let the other girls in to lay and then sit on all of the eggs. Some have already switched to using the main nest boxes but I am letting Cheddar keep whatever eggs she gets. I anticipate that she will eventually refuse to move once she feels that she has a full clutch. I'm letting her do her thing! My Jersey Giant was feeling a little depressed having left Michigan for her new home here in Tennessee, so of course she gets to hang out on my shoulder taking selfies. So I’m a few days late for Meet My Chicken Monday. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Clockwise from top Left - Elk the Cream Legbar, Thorie the Isbar. They are our two most senior ladies. Bottom right is some random Jersey Giants and Bully the Wyandotte. Bear is next - he’s the sweetest boy you could ever have. From the day he hatched, we all loved him.
