Not toeing Donald Trump's line, Tel Aviv to remain Israel's capital for India

New Delhi:  India, in its first reaction on US President Donald Trump recognising Jerusalem as capital of Israel, said today that its position on Palestine is independent and not determined by any third country.

“India’s position on Palestine is independent and consistent. It is shaped by our views and interests, and not determined by any third country,” said Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar.

Hundreds of Muslims have protested in Indian-controlled Kashmir against the Trump administration’s recognition this week of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The protesters marched at several places in the main city of Srinagar and other parts of the region after Friday prayers. They chanted slogans such as “Down with America” and “Down with Israel.”

In some places, the demonstrators also burned U.S. and Israeli flags.

Authorities imposed a curfew in parts of Srinagar and banned Friday prayers at the city’s main mosque, fearing the protests could morph into violent action against Indian rule.

Kashmiri leaders have called Trump’s move “anti-Muslim.”

Kashmiris have shown solidarity with Palestine in the past and there have been violent protests in Kashmir during previous conflicts between Israel and Palestine.

Ekkor tudasolt bennem, hogy mennyire zavaró, hogy magyar útikönyvet vittem amiben mindennek csak a magyar neve volt benne a telefon alakalmazásom meg angol volt. 

Jeruzsálemet többször feldulták, és több földrengés is megrázta a várost, így vittatott, hogy mi merre lehet. Úgy tartják, hogy itt található Jézus sírja, ennek jelenleg csak a tetejét látjuk ha ellátogatunk ide, kis szerencsével húsvéttól már lemehetünk a barlangba is.
