Day 8 of #tendaychallenge for posting older works. Cell, small wall hanging series (approx 8 cm dia that time, wax-coated, forged mild steel) was originally my records of various components design which welded leftover materials after making larger scales works. My mentor advised me to exhibit and sell them at my first time Chelsea Craft Fair in 2001. As I was nearly in red in my bank account, I decided to listen to this practical advise. It used to be much smaller and of course cheaper than recent ones, but I was so shocked the fact anyone wanted to purchase them. The first image is a part of my presentation for my Jerwood Applied Arts Prize 2005, which now changed to Jerwood Maker Open Prize. Time flying crazily first, I am honour to be one of judging panel for this year’s prize.
