Junior Songfestival 2012
So I watched the 1st semi-final of the Junior Songfestival (on Avro's website or sth..) where 4 acts performed & only 2 were selected for the final. I'd like to write about it (just a little bit).. so I could reflect on it later.
Let me just start off by saying that I just love their national final! How all the finalists get vocal & dance lessons + a video for their song! It (almost even) puts some ESC national finals to shame..
So the first one to perform was Amy with her song Boom Boom. I must admit when I first heard the song (before that semi-final) I really couldn't imagine how she'd perform it. But I loved way they did. Really enjoyable! Just somewhat forgettable. It might stand out in JESC.. but surely wouldn't win.
Kim took the stage (or podium, as the dutch call it..) after Amy. Mostly it just seemed like a typical Junior Songfestival song to me. But major props to her for carrying out such a good performance!
Then it was Melle's & his ukulele's turn. I adore this song! And a very calm/sweet performance! I was very pleasently surprised! Were those his pictures in the background? Loved them! Really deserved the place in the final!
And the last was a boy band called Mainstreet. Not the best live performance.. but I guess that wasn't the as important with the Dutch people. Personally, I'm curious to see how a boy band would do in JESC nowadays. Probably won't have to wonder too long...
I'm not exactly sure when their next semi-final is..but when I find out & watch it I'll probably write another one of these. (I guess you can take that either as a warning or as an announcement)
