The Quarry Girls by Jess Lourey
A small community is turned upside down when a girl goes missing. Best friends Heather and Brenda know something, but they can't say anything, because it might ruin their best friend Maureen's reputation.
This book was insane. I loved it. It had me angry and sad throughout and although it made me sad, the ending felt satisfying.

Mystery/Thriller Monday
Whoa, that was…whew…
The book is set in the 1960s, and it’s about Joan. She’s pregnant and moving to her fiancé Deck’s hometown in Minnesota, Lilydale. I mean, personally, Lilydale’s motto, “Come Home Forever” sorta freaked me out, but, in the book they see it as good and positive. (Possibly I’ve read too many mysteries and thrillers). It’s a picture perfect place, which… uh oh…
Not surprisingly (to me at least) there is something that feels slightly off to Joan. There’s an organization that seems to be in charge in not the usual small town way, there’s a boy who went missing decades and years before (1944), Victor, and then there may even be something from her own past in Lilydale too.
This was twisty, with the secrets big ones. And then it was creepy too. Like, Stepford Wives creepy. Which was awesome. But, yikes, so very creepy twisty.
