☄And That's a Wrap (ed.5) ☄
I'm a traditionalist in many ways. I like traditional trades, traditional formats and just plain old traditions. So, I can officially say that this 5th annual blog post is now formally a tradition. You can look at last year's entry HERE. (and from there you'll find a link to the year before that....and so on)
Despite 2012 starting with a career bang, (an abundance of great shoots, honored with a PDN award, finalist in a handful of other contests..etc) I've been on a photo hiatus since early spring.... or well more like suffering from a serious case photographer's block. It's challenging feeling, when all your ideas and creativity get lost in life. This is not to say life was not good. Life has been so great for 2012: I rediscovered my love of fitness-spending most of my days running wild in the forest, I traveled around the continent, Vancouver had one of the most beautiful long last summers and the best yet, I moved in with my best friend only to fall more in love with him and then only to have him ask me to marry him! I mean how great is all that? Yet somewhere in the mix of things my camera stayed home. If you love something, set it free and if it comes back, it was meant to be. And, well, with out sounding to much like a cliche I'm ready for 2013 to break my block and have my creativity/photography come back to me. My brain has been brewing dozens of ideas and I can't wait to break the ice and spend more time behind the camera. Hooray for resolutions! Hooray for a wedding! and Hooray for 2013!
JANUARY:I started the year off by shooting Grimes. One of my fave shoots too date thanks to Mila and Jenna
FEBRUARY: We went to Sayulita & Jesse and I celebrated 1 year together.
MARCH: I shot Two Towns at the band hotel and ran my first trail race.
APRIL:We went to California.
MAY:I turned 28 and Jess and I moved into our permanent home with our little family.
JUNE:Took a nice big road trip with Legs, Two Towns and Victories for Sled Island music festival
JULY:I got to shoot Sachiko's wedding. One of the most wonderful days with story book photos.
AUGUST:This is my bestie Mish Way give me the finger as I take a portrait of her family.
SEPTEMBER:Jess proposed to me on a mountain top and we went to Cuba!
OCTOBER:Jess and I dressed as ghosts for Halloween and I went to portland with my Aunt.
NOVEMBER:I spent a day taking engagement photo
DECEMBER:Both Jess and I went home (Montreal/Ottawa) for the holidays. This was my first time spending Christmas with my family in a couple of years and it was most definitely the best Christmas in a very long time!
I'm the luckiest lady.
This weekend Jess and I went up to Lynn Headwaters to shoot some long overdue engagement photos. Despite the snow and the under estimated challenge of shooting them myself, we managed to get a couple of keepers....including this one of my husband-to-be and Lola. (more to follow)
