He’s still trying to make sense of how they got here. To this moment.

“You never fucking visited me,” he’d accused Ian, but the truth is Mickey’s already forgiven him.

Forgiving himself--well. That’s a different matter, isn’t it?

He knows he shouldn’t have gotten himself arrested. He knows he should’ve been there.

And what’s he got to offer Ian now--a life on the run? Away from his family, his job?

Doubt creeps in.

Ian looks at him, smiles.
