You know that feeling: you just got back from an amazing retreat, or mission trip, or even VBS, and you can just feel His presence around you, in every person, in every word, and in every song.
This is by far my most favorite feeling. I love the rush of pure joy and love that I feel in these moments.
But little by little, that’s what they’re becoming. Not a week-long Jesus High, sometimes not even a full day - just moments.
A friend recently told me that she experiences the same thing, and I think I’ve come to the realization that these moments of “Jesus High” are meant to be a nudge forward in our faith life, not the fuel that keeps it going. Once that high runs out, it’s up to us to keep our faith and our journey moving forward. These highs just give us a little turbo boost. It’s like Bullet Bill in Mario Kart; taking over and boosting us forward just when we need the extra strength.
This verse tells of people going up to “the mountain of the Lord” and learning how to live as He calls us to live and then going back out to teach others. It says “The law will go out from Zion.”
Basically, it’s up to us to come down off that Jesus High and spread the Word and good feelings to others. We’re not meant to stay on that mountain, but to come back and tell others the good news.
