I regret not listening to music as much as a teenager. I was a teenager from 1986-1993. That wasn't a good time for music. The other problem was I was "born again" in 1991, and I threw out all my cassettes that I had worked hard to collect, and started to listen exclusively to Christian music. I listened to every genre, went to as many concerts and festivals as I could, and I knew, and still know, the lyrics of thousands of songs. What did I miss? REM, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, And a host of older bands and musicians. I'm a huge fan of Amanda Palmer, but I'm so uptight looking, I would be out of place at her concert. I discovered The Ramones when I was 30. I knew of Nirvana and the grunge scene, but had no interest until Cobain was dead for seven or so years. I just recently started admiring the work that Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, and James Taylor. I can't believed I sheltered myself from good music for so long. Music brings out emotions I never thought I had. I missed out on so much. There's a song by Atomic Opera called "Jesus Junk" they are a Christian band, but they point out that Christians buy only Christian things. From candy, to shampoo, to music, to whatever. There's a Christian alternative to any secular thing. "Jesus Junk" made me realize how dumb I had been. It was around that time that I bought Nirvana's MTV Unplugged cassette (I was poor and cars I bought didn't have a CD player). I loved it. I bought the rest of the Nirvana library soon after. I would relapse and feel guilty and throw them in a fire, but I'd get them again. Out of all the things I regret, it's not appreciating secular music. Christians are taught that secular music is poison for your brain, but if that we're true, why does Christian music often imitate the secular scene a few months later?

JESUS JUNK: Atheist Conglomerate Gets Rich, Changes Minds

CHATTANOOGA, TN—That cheesy Christian T-Shirt you saw the other day might not be so Christian after all. In an on-going investigation, Irrelevant Magazine has uncovered a network of atheists getting rich and changing minds by designing, printing, and retailing Christian bumper stickers and T-Shirts to unsuspecting teens and youth workers.

Intercepted e-mails detail how these men conspired to "rip off every pop culture reference imaginable" and "create Jesus-puns that would make Helen Keller roll her eyes." As a result they would "make a fortune selling this garbage" while "making [Christians] look like total morons."

While bank records indicate this single atheist syndicate had 2012 revenues in excess of $500,000, it is still uncertain how many minds have been changed. Early estimates indicate the number could be in the millions meaning that for ever dollar spent at least two people turn away from faith.

At this time it is also unclear what other Christian organizations and industries are puppets for this vast atheist conspiracy but significant leads point to various Christian movie production companies, creation-science groups, and right-wing political action committees.
