Some fears feel overwhelming, but Jesus stands stronger than every doubt. Hold onto faith, because His presence brings peace where fear once lived.

Our network leader Don Ross shared this quote and image yesterday and I had to pass it along because of the climate we find ourselves in. “I’m either being held hostage by fear or captivated by Jesus, not both. If I try both, fear always wins. Choose Jesus over fear.” When we choose fear, we are then driven by self-interests; seeking safety, comfort, and stability in life’s circumstances. Jesus never called us to safety or comfort or even stability - He calls us to die daily to ourselves. The rhetoric surrounding our election season is laced with fear, on both sides. If you have chosen to follow Jesus, fear cannot be your motivating factor, period. Fear lies. If we are truly following Jesus, we must recognize that when Paul says, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others,” Phil.‬ ‭2:3-4‬ ‭NIV‬‬ he means it.
